In a one minute video, Caitlin Clark was asked about her favorite matchup amongst Nike athletes.

The 2024 WNBA star, Caitlin Clark has also become one of the faces for Nike in a short-time. She also signed a record-breaking eight year, $28 million contract with Nike in April, 2024. She was also part of Nike’s Super Bowl commercial which displays her influence in women’s sports.

After the release of Nike’s “Just Win” advertisement, the brand also shot an short interview featuring Caitlin Clark. In a one minute video, Caitlin Clark was asked about her favorite matchup amongst Nike athletes and she replied with “DT” (Diana Taurasi). The Fever star praised the competitiveness of DT and also called her an “Icon” in women’s basketball. She also talked about her experience of sharing the court with the veteran star.

“Honestly, I’d say my favorite matchup has to be DT, because she’s such an icon in our sport and has been in the game for so long. Getting to share the court with her was pretty fun. You can feel her competitive spirit, even when you’re not on her team—it’s contagious as a competitor.” said Caitlin Clark in the Nike interview.

Diana Taurasi was amongst the group who thought Clark’s college game would not transition into the WNBA.

“Reality is coming” and You look superhuman playing against some 18-year-old but you are going to come play with some grown women that have been playing professional basketball for a long time.” said Taurasi in a statement to ESPN.

However, Caitlin Clark had one of the most successful rookie seasons in WNBA history. The statement by the veteran proved to be naive as the Indiana Fever swept the Phoenix Mercury 3-0 in the season series. Caitlin Clark recorded three double-doubles, averaging 21.3 points, 6.6 rebounds and 11.6 assists per game against the Mercury in the regular season.

The WNBA superstar, Caitlin Clark reveals that she has been getting back on the grind in her recent Nike interview.

“Fortnite. I used to play video games a lot in college with my friends, especially over Christmas break when it was just basketball and us on campus. We’d go to practice, grab something to eat, and then just game all day. But that stopped once I moved out of Iowa City and to Indianapolis. I haven’t been playing as much lately, but I’m getting back on the grind.” said Caitlin Clark when asked about something you are into that people wouldn’t expect.

The Indiana Fever play their first game of the season against the arch-rivals, Chicago Sky in Indiana on May 16.
