Caitlin Clark Makes WNBA History With Season-High Performance in Fever-Dream

Indiana Fever guard, Caitlin Clark dropped another top-notch performance in the WNBA on Tuesday but couldn’t help her team to prevail the first defeat of the season. The 2024 rookie of the year scored a double-double in Indiana Fever’s 91-90 defeat against the Atlanta Dream.

Caitlin Clark is already making headlines for WNBA’s popularity. Indiana’s season-opener against Chicago broke all the previous record of the viewership. With one victory in hand, the Fever almost secured their second straight win but they fell short despite a late fourth quarter surge. Clark dropped his season high 27-point performance and created a history.

Caitlin Clark Surpasses Sabrina Ionescu for Major Spot in WNBA History

Caitlin Clark started the season on high note with a historic triple-double in season-opener and on Tuesday, she dropped a double-double against Dream. With this performance, she surpassed New York Liberty’ Sabrina Ionescu to take over the record for most 25-point and 10-assist games in WNBA history. It was Clark’s 6th 25-point performance in the WNBA.

Clark tallied 27 points, 11 assists and five rebounds, including five 3-pointers. She also surpassed Courtney Vandersloot for most 20 points and 10 assists record. Chicago legend took 394 games to record this feat 10 times and Clark took just 42 games.

The Fever guard also becomes the first player in WNBA history to open the season with consecutive 20-point, and 10-assist games. She is the first player in league history with multiple games of 25 points, 10 assists, five rebounds and five 3-pointers.

Apart from Caitlin Clark, Aliyah Boston finished also scored a double-double with 24 points and 10 rebounds. Kelsey Mitchell added 24 points, and Indiana lost the game despite outscoring the Dream 25-15 in the final period.
