Clark’s all-around dominance continues as she climbs up the triple double ladder
Caitlin Clark has taken the WNBA by storm. She has changed how the game is being perceived around the world. With a red-hot start to her career, Clark is on pace to shatter multiple WNBA records sooner than anyone expected. The 23-year-old started her season on a strong note with a triple double against her rivals, Chicago Sky.
Caitlin Clark went on to score 20 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds. On Saturday, she became the first Indiana Fever player to ever record a triple double in a season opener. The Fever won the game comfortably by 93-58 and started the new WNBA season on stronger terms.

The WNBA has had some decorated players over the years. Very few players have shown the versatility and endurance it takes to record a triple double, one of basketball’s toughest statistical feats. Making double figures in three or more stat lines has never been easy.
Alyssa Thomas has the highest triple doubles in the history of the WNBA. She managed to hit 15 of those in her active basketball career. The forward who joined the league in 2014 through the Phoenix Suns also managed to become third all time WNBA scorer recently.
New York Liberty’s Sabrina Ionescu holds the second place as she has managed to hit 4 triple doubles so far. The elite three point shooter is still young and has a long way to go. However, will she be able to catch Alyssa Thomas’ 15 and counting figure remains to be seen. Candace Parker has struck 3 triple doubles in her active time at the WNBA.
Clark has already notched three triple doubles in her young career with the latest coming Saturday night against the Chicago Sky. She scored 20 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds. Caitlin Clark sits at the third place in the list of most Triple Doubles in the WNBA. She is tied with Candace Parker who also has 3 triple doubles.
Caitlin Clark is also the fastest to reach 3 triple doubles taking just 41 games for the feat. The guard’s 1st triple double was against the New York Liberty finishing with 19 points, 13 assists, and 12 rebounds. She became the first rookie player in WNBA to record a triple double. Her second came last season against the Los Angeles Sparks, where she racked up 24 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists.
If this pace holds, it won’t be long before Caitlin Clark owns the record books, and redefines the way we talk about triple doubles in women’s basketball.
