The Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark could help the WNBA make almost a billion dollars in the second year of her professional career. Clark, who revolutionized female basketball since her college days, continues to entertain fans with her gaming prowess in the ongoing season.

According to a recent report by finance educator at Indiana University Columbus, Ryan Brewer, Clark contributed to 26.5% of the WNBA’s economic success last season. The economic profits came from merchandise, ticket sales and television. The report by Brewer adds that the 23-year-old is going to help the league earn almost a billion dollars in the ongoing season.

In an interview to NBC News, Brewer said, “If things just go as they were, and we have an expanded season of 22 home games with modest inflation, I’m looking at $875 [million]. And I could easily see that eclipsing a billion dollars on the economic impact of Caitlin Clark this year.”

The 2024 Rookie of the Year has created a massive impact in league ever since her debut, including a boost in viewership, league’s popularity as well as compelling the other franchises to change their venues for clashes against Fever in the 2025 season.

Caitlin Clark Furious At Referees For Not Fouling Natasha Cloud During 90-88 Loss

Caitlin Clark was seen getting furious at the referees for not fouling New York Liberty’s Natasha Cloud following a hard contact during the Fever’s 90-88 loss. In the final seconds of the game, Clark gained possession of the ball and had the chance to tie it or secure a victory. Cloud defended Clark and leaned into her enough to gain the possession of the ball, and ended up pushing her shoulder.

However, the referees didn’t blow the whistle, ending the game right there. The former Iowa star was left furious and she began shouting at the officials upon realizing that no foul was called upon the reigning champions. Needless to say, the no-call stole Fever’s opportunity to turn the outcome in their favor. Clark, who is the fastest player in WNBA history to reach 750+ points, 250+ rebounds, and 250+assists, finished the game with 18 points, five rebounds, and ten assists.

Following the game, Fever’s head coach Stephanie White lambasted WNBA referees for their officiating this season. She said, “The disrespect right now for our team has been pretty unbelievable. So, it’s disappointing, you know, that it doesn’t go both ways, or it hasn’t gone both ways.”

Notably, the Fever have recorded two wins and two defeats so far in the ongoing season.
