Ben Johnson, Chicago Bears’ New Head Coach, Has A Cheeky Response To This Lions Running Back’s Tall Claim!

The Chicago Bears have hired Ben Johnson as their new head coach. Prior to the Bears, Johnson served as an offensive coordinator for the Detroit Lions. He helped the Lions achieve a top-5 offense each season from 2022-2024.

The only problem with the Lions is that they have crumpled under pressure when the lights are the brightest, during the NFL playoffs. They have failed to reach the Superbowl in back-to-back years, even though their record says that they’re the best.

The Lions lost to the 49ers in Conference championship round but this year they were knocked out by the 6th seeded Commanders. What happened exactly? Was it injuries or was it something else? Dan Campbell was been a great leader for the team and led them to their winningest season in recent years. The Lions will try to bounce back next season but will miss the presence of Ben Johnson who was their offensive coordinator.

Many Lions’ fans may have waived a quiet goodbye to coach Johnson but some may down right be upset or a little sour, with his decision to leave. This includes Amon-Ra St. Brown, WR for the Lions, who had a little something to say about coach Johnson’s decision to leave for the Bears who are the Divisional rivals. What did he exactly say? Let’s find out.

What did St. Brown say about coach Johnson?

In his podcast known as St. Brown Podcast, St. Brown was asked how he felt about coach Johnson now coaching the Chicago Bears. His response was:

“Obviously I love Ben. One of my favorite coaches that I’ve had for sure. He’s smart and he’s one of the hardest working coaches I’ve been around. Obviously I would want to have him in Detroit, forever, but that’s not the reality of things.”

St. Brown continued “Probably a lot of coaches want to be a head coach at one point in their lives… He took it so I don’t blame him.”

St. Brown goes on to talk about how coach Johnson and the Lions’ WR talked about what Johnson was going to do next. Which team he wanted to go to which included the Bears, Panthers, and the Raiders.

St. Brown continued “(I) got to talk to him. We had some banter back and forth, messing around. He’s obviously excited for the opportunity. We got our boy Caleb (Williams) over there. They got some good players. They got a pretty good team… I told him ‘Two times a year Ben we’re gonna f*** you up.’ He (Johnson) goes ‘Imma f*** you up’.”

It’s all love between the two and the conversation was mostly light-hearted. However when the Bears face the Lions next season, there may be something more than just a kind exchange between the two.
