Bayern Munich Set to Launch £60M Bid for Aston Villa Forward

Bayern Munich see the Aston Villa attacker as a potential long-term replacement for Thomas Muller.

Bayern Munich are reportedly preparing a significant offer for Aston Villa forward in the upcoming summer transfer window. The Bundesliga leaders are considering a bid close to £60 million (€70 million) for the versatile attacker, who has become a key figure under Unai Emery at Villa Park.

Bayern Munich are firmly on track to reclaim the league title this year after seeing their Bundesliga dominance come to an end last season at the hands of Bayer Leverkusen. Under the guidance of Vincent Kompany, Bayern currently lead the table by six points. However, their Champions League campaign was cut short by Inter Milan in the quarter-finals.

Bayern Munich Line Up Summer Bid for Morgan Rogers

With Thomas Muller leaving the club at the end of this season, Bayern are expected to bolster their attacking options in the upcoming transfer window. According to Fichajes, the Bundesliga giants have identified Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers as a priority target. Bayern sees Rogers as a potential long-term replacement for Muller.

Rogers, 22, has enjoyed a breakout 2024–25 season, making 42 starts across the Premier League and Champions League, contributing 12 goals and nine assists. His performances have earned him a place in the England national team and drawn attention from top European clubs.

While Rogers is reportedly happy at Villa, the prospect of joining a club of Bayern Munich’s stature will be huge for the attacker. Despite having a contract with Aston Villa that runs until 2030, the Premier League club could face a dilemma if they want to let Rogers leave or not.

The club has already made significant investments, including the loan acquisitions of Marco Asensio and Marcus Rashford. If they were to sign the duo on permanent deals, it would total around £55 million. As a result, Villa could be enticed to part ways with Rogers to finace the loan deals of Asensio and Rashford. Additionally, Villa have the chance to earn nearly four times their initial investment (£15 million) should they decide to sell the forward.
