Barcelona return to La Liga action this weekend following their Champions League success over Newcastle United. Hansi Flick’s men are sitting in second position in the La Liga table with 10 points from four games. They will now aim to maintain pressure on leaders Real Madrid. The Catalan champions have impressed early in the season.
Their performance can be highlighted by a 6-0 demolition of Valencia. Unfortunately for them, they are still playing home matches at the Johan Cruyff Stadium due to Camp Nou renovations. In the midst of it, they will have to shifts their focus to hosting a spirited Getafe side currently in fourth place.
❝ We have to stay focused, taking it one match at a time. Our job is to give everything for this Club. I’ll give my all for this team, and that’s what I expect from my players. ❞

Barcelona remain without several key players and Flick may rotate to introduce fresh legs. Lamine Yamal has been sidelined through a groin issue and Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Alejandro Balde, and Gavi still unavailable. Pau Cubarsi has recovered from a knee scare but is expected to be rested.
Flick could rotate his squad after a demanding European midweek fixture. Dani Olmo and Ferran Torres will be pushing for starts. Marcus Rashford is likely to retain his place following his brace against Newcastle. Meanwhile Robert Lewandowski and Fermin Lopez may be benched.

Jose Bordalas’s men are coming into this clash fresher. They’ve last played on September 13 when they defeated Real Oviedo 2-0. Their only defeat so far came against Valencia. However, nine points from four games underline their strong start. Juanmi remains doubtful due to a knee injury.
Yet Getafe otherwise boast a near full-strength squad. Adrian Liso has scored three goals this season and is set to partner Borja Mayoral in attack. Midfielder Luis Milla, with four assists already, will be a key figure once again alongside Mario Martin in the center.
Barcelona will enter this La Liga battle as overwhelming favourites. They demolished Valencia 6-0 at home recently, with multiple players, including Raphinha, finding the net twice. Over their past few matches, Barca have averaged well over three goals per game.
Even though Getafe have started solidly, their defensive record and the gulf in attacking firepower suggest this could be a high-scoring affair. Betting over 3.5 goals makes sense, especially with Barcelona looking to dominate from start to finish.
Marcus Rashford has been in excellent form following his move to Barcelona. He scored a brace against Newcastle in the Champions League, including a header and a stunning long-range finish. Barcelona were without some of their key injured players. Even so, Rashford showed that can carry the attacking burden. His movement, recent goal scoring, and the way he’s been integrated into Flick’s attack justify backing him to score at any time.
Raphinha has also been among Barcelona’s most dangerous attacking outlets this season. He’s already scored three goals in four La Liga matches and provided assists as well. His shooting volume, involvement in big-chance creation, and consistency make him extremely likely to either get on the scoresheet or create one for a teammate. He represents a strong option for bettors who expect Barcelona to control this match, with the -210 odds justifying his talents.
| Picks | Moneyline |
| Ferran Torres to score first | +390 |
| Raphinha to score anytime | -105 |
| Marcus Rashford to assist anytime | +270 |
| Robert Lewandowski to either score or assist | -240 |
| Abdel Abqar to see a card | +130 |
| Andraes Christensen to commit one foul or more | -450 |
Given Barcelona’s recent blowouts, especially at home, and their momentum, they seem poised to take this one. Getafe have shown resilience at times, and they’ll likely get a goal or two from counter-attacks.
With players like Rashford and Raphinha firing, plus multiple sources of attacking threat, Barcelona should ultimately come out on top. A 3-1 win feels realistic. It will be a strong performance with plenty of goals, yet not a clean sheet.
The Barcelona vs Getafe La Liga clash is on September 21, 2025, at the Johan Cruyff Stadium, Barcelona, Spain.
Barcelona are favorites to win with a moneyline at -450, to draw at +550and for Getafe to win at +1250.
