Austria’s Road to the 2026 FIFA World Cup: June Fixtures, Squad Details, and Qualification Preview
Austria following the defeat to Serbia in the Nations League Play-Offs in March 2025 will shift their focus to the UEFA World Cup Qualifications. Joining Group H alongside Bosnia & Herzegovina, Romania, Cyprus and San Marino, the Austrian side will head in their first Qualifiers of the World Cup 2026.
Group H is currently topped by Bosnia & Herzegovina after two in two games. Romania sits at the second spot after their defeat to the group leaders in March. Austria coming in a nervy form after three games without a win will be under pressure as they start their Qualifiers campaign.

Austria will take on Romania in their first qualifier on June 6, 2025. Having produced some intense and close games over the years, these two sides will meet again as Romania looks to top the group.
