Top Eight Clash in Turin for Year-End Glory at ATP Finals 2025

The ATP Finals return to Turin on 9th November, bringing the top eight singles players and doubles teams together for the most exclusive event of the season. Played on the quick indoor hard courts of the Inalpi Arena, the year-end championship runs through 16th November, featuring a round-robin stage split into two groups of four before moving into the knockout semifinals and final.

With Jannik Sinner returning as the defending champion and the first Italian ever to lift the trophy, Carlos Alcaraz arrives chasing both the title and the Year-End World No. 1. Meanwhile, Novak Djokovic, fresh off his 101st career win in Athens, has withdrawn from the ATP Finals due to a shoulder injury. His exit clears the path for both Lorenzo Musetti and Felix Auger-Aliassime to compete at the season-ending event in Turin.

ATP Finals 2025 Draw

This year’s singles field features two stacked groups. In the Jimmy Connors Group, top seed Carlos Alcaraz is joined by Taylor Fritz, Alex de Minaur, and Lorenzo Musetti, who earned his place after Novak Djokovic withdrew due to a shoulder injury. Alcaraz arrives chasing his first ATP Finals crown and the Year-End No. 1, while Fritz returns as last year’s finalist. De Minaur leads the tour in hard-court wins this season, and Musetti enters on the back of a strong campaign, making this group a high-pressure minefield.

The Bjorn Borg Group houses defending champion Jannik Sinner, third seed Alexander Zverev, booming lefty Ben Shelton, and Felix Auger-Aliassime, who also qualified following Djokovic’s withdrawal. Sinner’s title run last year electrified Turin, while Zverev remains a constant threat indoors. Shelton and Auger-Aliassime bring explosive shotmaking and streaky ceilings, turning this group into one of the most unpredictably dangerous lineups in recent Finals history.

ATP Finals 2025 Format

The ATP Finals maintain their signature round-robin format, with eight players or teams split into two groups of four. Each player faces all three opponents in their group, and the top two advance to the semifinals, where group winners meet the opposite group runners-up. All singles matches, including the final, are best of three sets with tie-breaks in every set. Doubles matches use no-ad scoring, two standard sets, and a Match Tie-break if needed. The winners of each semifinal meet in the championship match for the ATP Finals trophy.

My journey into sports media began far from the field, rooted in the arts and sciences. Funny enough, I didn’t grow up a sports fan; I used to see it all as just noise. But a fateful writing job introduced me to the world of sports, and what began as a gig quickly became a passion. I understood those voices aren’t noise; they’re emotions of true sports fans, and now I am one of them, writing with the same energy I once questioned.
