Atlanta Dream Playoffs Chances: Will Dream Make it to their Third Consecutive Playoffs in 2025?

Garima Ranawat

Atlanta is currently in the third spot with a 20-11 tally, tying with New York Liberty.

The 2025 WNBA season is approaching the postseason, and all 13 teams have pulled their socks up. The teams don’t want to leave any stone unturned, and book themselves a spot that would bring them a step closer to the coveted title. Atlanta Dream is one name which is in contention for the championship. The three-time WNBA finalists are pretty determined to secure their first title, and their campaign is a testament to it.

Currently seeded in the third spot, the Dream maintain a 20-11 tally, tying them with the New York Liberty, who are in the second spot. This clearly sets them as one of the strongest teams of the season. They are on a five-game winning streak, and have won eight of their last ten matches. With only 13 games left this regular season, they are expected to continue their dominance. The Dream will clash against the Minnesota Lynx and the Liberty only once in the remainder of the season. These games may prove to be a threat, Otherwise, they are likely to fare seamlessly.

Will Atlanta Dream Secure a Playoff Berth?

As mentioned the Atlanta Dream are one of the strongest teams in the ongoing season. Being led by Allisha Gray in scoring, Brionna Jones in rebounding, Jordin Canada in assists as well as steals, and Brittney Griner in blocks, Atlanta would make it to the playoffs easily. According to ESPN’s Basketball Power Index, the team currently has a 99.9% chance of reaching the postseason.

Though it is just a strong possibility and nothing is certain as of now. As mentioned, they have easy games in the remainder of the season, except a few clashes including those against the Liberty and the Lynx. In case of a losing skid, the Dream could fall from the top. However, it is an unlikely scenario. One can expect them to finish the regular season with at least 30-31 wins. Hence, it can be said that the Dream have high chances to secure a playoff berth for the third consecutive season.
