Aryna Sabalenka vs. Elena Rybakina Head-to-Head, Prediction and Betting Odds for WTA Cincinnati Open 2025 Quarterfinal

Sankalp Harikrishnan

Two powerhouse Grand Slam champions square off in Cincinnati.

Two of the biggest ball strikers on the WTA Tour will collide at the 2025 Cincinnati Open, when Aryna Sabalenka and Elena Rybakina meet in the quarterfinals on Friday. It is a rivalry that has an adventurous history full of quality tennis. With both players in top form, this match-up promises to be one for the history books. Using BetMGM, we provide you with the most accurate predictions and betting odds for the Cincinnati Masters.

Competing in her first event since Wimbledon, World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka is back to her ruthless best. The 27-year-old Belarusian has three titles and four finals to her name in 2025, including the semifinal or better at all the majors. After beating Grand Slam champions Vondrousova and Raducanu in her opening two matches at Cincinnati, the top seed earned her 50th win of the season by thrashing Bouzas Maneiro in the Round of 16. Coming in as the defending champion, Sabalenka will start as the firm favourite.

Meanwhile, Elena Rybakina required three sets in all her contests thus far – including a Round of 16 vs Australian Open champ Keys. The Kazakh sensation overcame her Wimbledon disappointment by reaching back-to-back semifinals in Washington and Montreal, and looks to make it a hat-trick on Friday. Rybakina’s 40-15 record in 2025 places her at No. 10 in the world at the moment. Despite winning just one trophy in Strasbourg so far, her consistency makes her a strong contender at the upcoming US Open in August.

Aryna Sabalenka vs Elena Rybakina Head to Head Record

Sabalenka leads the head-to-head against Rybakina by 7-4 so far.

Having stood across the net for the first time in 2019, Sabalenka and Rybakina have weaved one of the finest duels in the WTA. The Belarusian won their first four battles – including the Australian Open final in 2023. Since then however, it has been practically impossible to split the two. The outcome of their most recent encounter was determined by a third set tiebreak, in Stuttgart earlier this year.

Aryna Sabalenka vs Elena Rybakina WTA Cincinnati Open 2025 Prediction

Although Sabalenka has a comfortable edge in the head-to-head, she is yet to beat Rybakina in straight sets. The top seed will be fully aware that she needs to be on top of her game to overpower the former Wimbledon winner. Rybakina’s one-dimensional approach means that she will need to be fearless in her shot making, and go for the lines. Meanwhile, the World No. 1 will use slices and drops to upset the rhythm of her opponent. Expect an increase in the average ace count, winners and unforced errors.

Prediction: Aryna Sabalenka in straight sets.
