The Gunners Agree Terms for €73.5M Deal As Swedish Striker Eyes Premier League Return.

Arsenal are on the verge of completing the signing of Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP. The Gunners’ have made some decisive progress in negotiations. Reportedly, they’ve agreed to pay a fixed fee of €63.5m (£54.8m) plus €10m (£8.6m) in add-ons.

This would bring the total package to sign Gyokores to €73.5m. The striker’s agent has reportedly waived his commission to help smoothen the deal. This has allowed Arsenal to edge closer to securing Mikel Arteta’s top target this summer.

Talks between the two clubs had been tense for some time. Sporting CP president Frederico Varandas initially rejected Arsenal’s offers. Additionally, he contested the claims of a gentleman’s agreement to let Gyokeres leave for €60m plus add-ons.

However, Arsenal’s latest proposal surpasses that amount. The 27-year-old Swede is also refusing to report for pre-season training in Lisbon. As a result, the Portuguese champions have softened their stance. Gyokeres joined Sporting from Coventry City in 2023.

A deal for Chelsea winger Noni Madueke has also been struck. All of it shows how intent Arteta has been to build a squad capable of winning the Premier League after finishing second last season, plagued with injuries. With Gyokeres set to lead the line, Arsenal also aim to address their struggles for a natural No.9 from last season.
