Anthony Richardson Next Team Odds 2026: Top Landing Spots for Colts Quarterback Following Shock Announcement

Devavrat Kulkarni

Colts allow Anthony Richardson to look for pastures new!

As per reports around the NFL community, the Indianapolis Colts have given quarterback Anthony Richardson permission to seek a trade. The shocking announcement comes after the 2023 NFL draft’s fourth overall pick spent three seasons in Indy playing just 17 games.

NFL insider Adam Schefter revealed that Richardson himself requested a trade to the Colts organization after having fallen behind Daniel Jones and Riley Leonard in the pecking order. Last season, Richardson lost the starting spot in preseason to Jones and then fell further down the depth chart after suffering a freak eye accident during a pre-game workout.

The 23-year-old’s career in the NFL has been marred by injuries. He missed all but 4 games of his rookie season after suffering a shoulder injury. In 2024, he missed 4 games due to oblique and back injuries, and last season, he missed much of the year due to an eye injury.

Currently, Richardson has regained vision in his eye and is now on the lookout for a team where he stands a better chance at playing. With that in mind, let us take a look at the top odds for the year 4 veteran in the upcoming 2026-27 NFL season

Anthony Richardson Next Team Odds

In this article, we will take a look at the leading destinations for the Colts’ quarterback for the upcoming season. Since Richardson is still under contract in Indianapolis, if a trade does not work out, he would remain with the Colts, and that is still one of the top possibilities.

The table below provides the odds for Anthony Richardson’s next team for the 2026-27 NFL season, in the event a trade works out. Anthony Richardson Odds sourced via DraftKings

Anthony Richardson to Minnesota Vikings (+350)

Anthony Richardson being traded to the Minnesota Vikings is at the top of the odds as per DraftKings. The Vikings’ quarterback room currently consists of J.J. McCarthy, Carson Wentz, and Max Bosmer. McCarthy, who will be beginning his third year in the league, has yet to lock down his role as the franchise quarterback, and Wentz is about to become a free agent.

Last season, the Vikings had extremely poor quarterback play with McCarthy throwing for just 1,632 yards in 10 games with 11 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. If Minnesota is interested in bringing in more competition for their current starter, they could consider a trade for Richardson. However, it may prove to be a gamble as they would have two unproven signal callers on the roster.

Understanding how to bet on NFL games is crucial for maximizing the value of our expert picks and making informed wagers each week.

Anthony Richardson to Los Angeles Rams (+700)

The Los Angeles Rams come in with the second-best odds to trade for the Colts’ quarterback. The Rams have no pressing need at the position, but backup quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo is set to become a free agent, and LA could look at Richardson for their backup role.

As for Richardson himself, this could be a good fit as he would get the opportunity to learn behind one of the current greats of the game and last season’s league MVP, Matthew Stafford. Furthermore, the Rams have an excellent coaching system in place, which could help develop Richardson further at the professional level.

Anthony Richardson to Cleveland Browns (+750)

The Cleveland Browns are the team with the next best odds, and they present an intriguing opportunity. The Browns had a debacle at quarterback last season, as nothing truly seemed to work despite playing three different signal callers.

What’s more, the infamous Deshaun Watson deal continues to hinder the Browns as the former Texans quarterback enters his final season. The Browns also have two quarterbacks from last year’s draft in Shedeur Sanders and Dillon Gabriel.

Overall, the Browns’ looking to trade for Richardson just feels like digging a bigger hole, but then again, they would have three young quarterbacks and a ton of competition for the starting role.

Anthony Richardson to New York Jets (+850)

The New York Jets are another franchise struggling with their quarterback play. After bringing in Justin Fields last season, there was some optimism following the Week 1 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Despite the 34-32 loss, Fields put in a fine performance.

But, things fell apart quickly after that, and now he, along with Tyrod Taylor and Brady Cook make up the top three signal callers on the roster. If they bring in Richardson, he would be able to compete for the starting role on an immediate basis.

With Richardson, the Jets could look to improve their explosiveness on offense, something that was missing last season. As for the QB, he would get a fresh start on another team that is struggling.

Anthony Richardson to New York Giants (+1200)

Second-year QB Jaxson Dart is the current starter for the Giants under center, and that is how it is expected to continue. New York also boasts of Jameis Winston and Russell Wilson, the latter of whom will be a free agent soon.

Trading for Anthony could be interesting in the sense that he would provide competition to Dart for the starting role. Even though it is unlikely he could win the job, he would get a chance at a new start and learn from one of the finest minds in the game, John Harbaugh.

Anthony Richardson to Las Vegas Raiders (+1800)

In sixth place come the Las Vegas Raiders, who have (+1800) odds to land Anthony Richardson via a trade with the Colts this offseason. The Raiders are also finding it difficult to solve their problems under center.

Last season, Vegas brought in Geno Smith, but that decision quickly backfired as he threw for 3,025 yards, 19 touchdowns, and 17 interceptions in just 15 games. He won just 2 of his 15 games as Vegas’ season lacked any spark.

Of course, not everything was the fault of the veteran QB, but he was a major part of the problem. The other quarterbacks on the roster are Kenny Pickett and Aidan O’Connell, but the former will be a free agent, enabling the Raiders to look for a decent backup.

As the Colts have given permission to Richardson to seek a trade, the ball is basically in his court at the moment. Two things will be at the forefront as he engages in talks with teams: the first being whether he wants a place where he can challenge for a starting role on an immediate basis, or whether he wants to join a franchise as a backup and learn from a veteran QB and an established coaching staff.
