Anthony Edwards scored 37 points with nine 3-pointers to help the Minnesota Timberwolves secure a 127-102 win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday night. The two-time All-Star also created history by becoming the 2nd fastest player in NBA history to record 50 3-pointers in a season.

Julius Randle paced the Timberwolves with 22 points and six rebounds. Naz Reid chipped in 15 points off the bench, and Rudy Gobert added eight points and 15 rebounds.

Anthony Edwards made nine three-pointers in the game without playing the fourth quarter. He appeared for 30 minutes and walked away with finding his name alongside legendary Stephen Curry. There are only two players in NBA history to hit 50-plus threes in the first nine games of the season. Curry has achieved this feat twice in 2018-19 and 2023-24.

The 23-year-old shooting guard had a great start this year, averaging 29.0 points, 5.9 rebounds and 3.6 assists per contest. Anthony Edwards guided the Timberwolves to the Western Conference finals for the first time since the 2004 season and he is on the way to crack the same story in 2024/25.
