Aneesah Morrow displayed brilliant prowess in the 2024-25 postseason, and averaged around 21 points per game, along with 12.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.5 steals. While her team, LSU Tigers were eliminated in the Elite 8 of the 2025 NCAA Tournament, Morrow’s impact was widely recognized. In the Sweet 16 clash against NC State Wolfpack, she came up with 30 points, and grabbed 19 rebounds, to lead the team on the other side of the victory line.

Morrow moved to LSU after spending two years with DePaul, and was named in USBWA Ann Meyers Drysdale National Player of the Week team after a few initial performances. With her in the lineup, LSU finished second in the SEC regular season with a 13-3 record. After the season, she was named to First-team All-Sec, an Honorable Mention All-American by AP, USBWA, and WBCA, as well as a finalist for the Cheryl Miller Award.

In her senior season, the 22-year-old surpassed 2,500 career points, and recorded over 1,500 rebounds. With this, she became the eighth player in NCAA history to achieve the feat. During the season, she averaged 18.7 points and 13.5 rebounds per game, and led the nation in rebounds as well as with 30 double-doubles, the second most in program history.

Aneesah Morrow, the recipient of the Katrina McClain Award, is projected to be picked in the first round of the 2025 WNBA Draft. The award that she has received is presented annually to the best women’s basketball power forward in college. Morrow led the NCAA in rebounds last season, and finished her collegiate career with 104 double-doubles.

Ahead of the 2025 WNBA Draft ceremony, Morrow was asked about the expectations she has from the team that signed her. She replied, “To be able to adjust to the system, be on a team where I can learn and be a sponge to pros and some of the best players in the world.”

Speaking about her projected landing spots, the newest franchise, Golden State Valkyries, who hold the No. 5 pick can use her to build a strong foundation. In addition, the LA Sparks, who hold the ninth pick, can also draft her to add strength to their core. However, the chances of them picking Morrow are very slim, since she is expected to go higher in the drafts.

The Connecticut Sun, who have the 7th and 8th pick can also secure Morrow as a promising forward of the future.
