Allisha Gray, Brittney Griner Reach Career Milestones in Dream vs Wings Game

Atlanta Dream produced a great offensive brilliance on Friday might to beat the Dallas Wings 100-78 and secured a place in the 2025 WNBA playoffs. This is the 11th time when Atlanta reached the playoffs and they also took the season series 3-1 against the Dream. Allisha Gray and Brittney Griner celebrated the victory with their own career milestones. Both players recorded in double figures and handed Dallas their 15th loss on the road.

Allisha Gray Sets Franchise Record in Atlanta’s Victory over Dallas

Allisha Gray is taking charge of the Atlanta Dream in pursuit of the WNBA glory. Amid the MVP debate, no one talks about her brilliance. The 30-year-old cementing herself amongst the WNBA greats with a career milestone. She scored 19 points, four points and five assists for the Dream on Friday.

Gray became the Atlanta Dream’s All-Time Single-Season Scoring Leader. She surpassed Angel McCoughtry’s 716 points for the most in a Dream season. This season is going great for Gray, averaging 8.7 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 3.6 assists in 38 games. During the season, Gray surpassed 4,000 career points and 400 made three-pointers to become only the 22nd player in WNBA history to accomplish both milestones.

Allisha Gray was named a 2025 WNBA All-Star starter which was her first in her career. It was her third consecutive All-Star selection, making her the second player in Atlanta Dream history to achieve this feat. She also earned the selection for the WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Month in May and June, becoming the first Atlanta player ever to get consecutive monthly honors.

Brittney Griner Adds Another Career Mark to Her Resume

Brittney Griner chases the WNBA record whenever she appears on the court. After spending 11 seasons with the Mercury, she joined the Atlanta Dream and her experience is helping the team. Griner has averaged 9.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, 0.8 assists, and 1.1 blocks in 21.6 minutes per game in 33 appearances.

The nine-time WNBA All-Star scored 11 points off the bench on 5-7 shooting from the field in her team’s blowout victory over the Wings. It was the ninth straight game when Griner came off the bench but she recorded in double figures.

With her third made field goal at home court, the veteran guard surpassed legendary center Lisa Leslie for 13th place on the WNBA all-time field goal made list. Griner is already a WNBA legend and a future Hall of Famer. She is the six-time All-WNBA, two-time Defensive Player of the Year, two-time scoring champ, and eight-time block champion. She also has won WNBA championship once which came with the Mercury.
