Saquon Barkley, running back for the Philadelphia Eagles, had one of the best seasons ever. The kind of records and stats he achieved in 2024, should put him in the conversation for the best season a running back has ever had. He helped the Eagles win the Super Bowl over the Kansas City Chiefs and was one of the missing pieces that solved the puzzle for Philadelphia. He started his NFL career with the New York Giants and played for six seasons before moving on to the Eagles. Had the Giants been willing to pay and commit to Barkley, we might not have seen Barkley in the Green jersey. But here he is and what a first season it has been for Barkley.

Today we will look at all of Barkley’s accomplishments in his very first season with the Eagles and there’s a lot to discuss.

Barkley’s 2024 season was nothing short of historic!

Here are all the record and accomplishments for Saquon Barkley this season;

Super Bowl champ- Nothing tops winning the Super Bowl and especially against the likes of Kansas City Chiefs who were trying to three-peat this season. Barkley made sure that the Chiefs did not achieve this feat.

Offensive Player of the Year- Barkley was named the offensive player of the year in 2024 and posted historic numbers in the regular season.

Single Season Rushing Record (including the playoffs)- He had 2005 and 499 rushing yards in the regular season and the postseason respectively, which combined for a total of 2504!

Joined the 2000-Yard club- Barkley is only the 9th player in history of the NFL to rush for 2000 yards or better.

Reverse-Hurdled another man- Saquon performed a backward hurdle in week 8 of the 2024 regular season going against the Jaguars. It is one of the greatest plays we’ve ever seen on live television. Even Eagles’ head coach, Nick Sirianni, said “It was the best play I’ve ever seen!”

Barkley had 14 games with 100 plus yards, including the playoffs.

Last but not the least, Barkley had seven 60 plus yards rushing touchdowns, including the playoffs, which is the most ever.

The Eagles may just be getting started with a Super Bowl win and having a player like Barkley on the roster has given them a lot of versatility which the Eagles didn’t have before. The Eagles will be a force to be reckoned with in the years to come!
