Alexander Zverev vs. Nishesh Basavareddy Prediction and Betting Odds for ATP Cincinnati Open 2025 Second Round

Rudra Dubey

Third seed Alexander Zverev is ready for a second-round match against wildcard Nishesh Basavareddy at the Cincinnati Open 2025. Zverev received a first-round bye, while Basavareddy impressed by dispatching lucky loser Aleksandar Vukic in straight sets. Zverev’s year, so far, has been a strong mix of highs and a few setbacks. After notable wins over Tommy Paul and Novak Djokovic, he reached the Australian Open final, falling to Jannik Sinner.

Zverev claimed his 24th career title in Munich and made deep runs in Stuttgart, Halle, Roland Garros, and Rome. A five-set upset loss to Arthur Rinderknech at Wimbledon was a shock upset, but Zverev rebounded with a semifinal appearance in Toronto before an upset by Karen Khachanov. Statistically, he’s been solid, landing 407 aces, winning 75% of first-serve points, and converting 41% of 386 break points.

On the flip side, Basavareddy, who turned pro in December 2024, is still writing his story on the ATP Tour. Basically, every round he advances in big events marks a milestone on his fresh canvas. He reached the Auckland semifinals early this season before a straight-sets loss to Gael Monfils. Despite mostly early exits, Basavareddy climbed to a career-high No. 99 in June and currently sits at No. 109. His stats include 48 aces with a 69% first-serve points won rate, 25% on first-serve return points, and a 33% break point conversion from 72 chances.

My journey into sports media began far from the field, rooted in the arts and sciences. Funny enough, I didn’t grow up a sports fan; I used to see it all as just noise. But a fateful writing job introduced me to the world of sports, and what began as a gig quickly became a passion. I understood those voices aren’t noise; they’re emotions of true sports fans, and now I am one of them, writing with the same energy I once questioned.
