The world No. 3 fully dominated the Italian ace in H2H matchups.
The world No. 3 Alexander Zverev will take on Lorenzo Sonego in the round of 16 clash of the 2025 ATP Terra Wortmann Open. The Russian ace dispatched Marcos Giron in the opening round in straight sets. Lorenzo Sonego, on the other hand, got better of Jan-Lennard Struff to kick off the ATP 500 competition with a win.
Alexander Zverev has been consistent at Halle with a semifinal run in last two editions. He recently finished as the runner-up in Stuttgart after losing to Taylor Fritz on tie-break but won at Munich which remains his only title this year.
The Russian ace reached the quarterfinals in the Roland Garros and made it into the finals in the Australian Open. With a 33-12 record, Zverev is pushing to change the numbers in Wimbledon and Terra Wortmann Open could be the competition where he can find the momentum on grass court.

Lorenzo Sonego entered the ATP 500 tournament with four-match losing streak but started the competition with a straight-set victory over Lennard Struff. Meanwhile, he failed to win consecutive matches in 11 straight tournaments and his best run came in the Australian Open where he reached quarterfinals.
Sonego has a poor record on the grass-court with winning just one title out of five career titles. The Italian ace will meet Zverev for the second time in Halle and the world No. 3 had the last laugh with straight-set victory. His last top-10 victory came in 2023 during Monte Carlo Masters. In last two years, he failed to cross the second round of the ATP Terra Wortmann Open.
