Key Injuries, Predicted Lineups & Match Preview for the Crucial La Liga match on April 13.
Real Madrid travel to Mendizorrotza Stadium on Sunday, with the determination to get back on track. They have suffered two back-to-back defeats in La Liga and the Champions League in their most recent fixtures. Los Blancos, currently in second position in the league table, cannot afford any more stumbles if they want to stay in the title race.
Especially with Barcelona who are already seven points ahead, having played one game more than Real. Meanwhile, Alaves are also desperate for points as they hover just two points above the relegation zone. Even with their precarious position the Basque side pulled off a crucial 1-0 win over Girona in their last match.

They have also suffered only a single defeat in their last five league outings. Even so, they have the odds stacked against them with their poor home form and a six-game losing streak against Real Madrid in La Liga. Hence, getting even a single point against Los Blancos would be a mountainous task for them.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid are coming off a humbling 3-0 defeat against Arsenal in the Champions League. They are likely to rotate heavily ahead of the second leg. With pressure mounting on both ends of the table, this clash will certainly be a thrilling one. Added to these, both teams dealing with key injuries, the crucial La Liga match becomes more interesting.
Alaves will be missing three key players – Tomas Conechny, Jon Guridi, and Antonio Sivera – who will serve suspensions in this match. However, they will have a squad boost with Nahuel Tenaglia back from suspension for Sunday’s clash. Sivera’s absence means Jesus Owono should start under the bar.
Whereas, Carles Alena should fill the void left by Guridi in midfield. The rest of the starting XI may remain unchanged from their win against Girona. Kike Garcia should continue to lead the attack after an impressive 11-goal haul in the league this season.

Real Madrid will continue to miss Eder Militao, Ferland Mendy, and Dani Carvajal. Antonio Rudiger is also likely to miss this fixture because of a lingering hip and knee pain. Whereas, David Alaba is doubtful for this match. Even so, Los Blancos will have some squad boost by getting Dani Ceballos back for this match.
While Federico Valverde is expected to be fit even though he received a knock. Andriy Lunin is also set to return from a calf issue. However, there may be major rotations in this match. Coach Ancelotti may rest Vinicius, Kylian Mbappe, and Jude Bellingham Junior ahead of their Champions League second leg match.
