Bayern Munich 2025-26 Season Preview: Team Updates, New Signings, What to Expect, and More

The 2025/26 season will mark the beginning of the 127th season in the history of the Bavarians. With a commendable transfer window so far, Vincent Kompany will look to achieve the titles he missed out on last season with a solid squad of amazing players.

Even though Bayern comfortably triumphed the Bundesliga last season, their early knockouts in the other tournaments were concerning. They were knocked out in the Round of 16 of DFB-Pokal, quarter-finals of both the UCL and the Club World Cup.

New Signings and Team Updates

The most high-profile signing, so far, made by the Bavarians in this window is the Colombian left-winger Luis Diaz from Liverpool for 70m euros. Talented centre-back Jonathan Tah from Bayer Leverkusen will add strength to the backline.

They have also signed Tom Bischof, the central midfielder, from Hoffenheim. They aren’t done yet and are still eyeing other world-class forwards to add to their squad. Departures so far include Mathys Tel, Adam Aznou, Palhinha, Bryan Zaragoza, Leroy Sane, Eric Dier and others.

The club will miss their legend Thomas Muller, who spent his entire senior career with the Bavarians, the most. He will be joining Vancouver Whitecaps in the twilight of his career and his leadership, experience and grit will certainly affect the team’s morale.

What to expect

Right off the bat, we can expect Bayern to dominate the Bundesliga once again, with the likes of Bayer Leverkusen being weakened thanks to the departure of a few of their star players and manager Xabi Alonso as well.

Dortmund will provide a challenge but they aren’t in the best form of their lives either. With a frontline of Luis Diaz, Harry Kane and Michael Olise, Bayern look deadly going forward. Kompany will certainly look to win the DFB-Pokal this season learning from his mistakes from the last. The Franz Beckenbauer Supercup against Stuttgart also looks rather achievable.

However, the true challenge lies in conquering the UCL, and Bayern cannot be written off, as always. It will definitely be the toughest nut to crack for them, but they have the quality to clinch the ultimate prize in club football.
