The Seattle Storm started strong and looked like real playoff contenders early in the WNBA season. They have the potential to win it all in the end.

However, post the WNBA All-star break, their performance has taken a massive hit. The Storm are on a two game losing streak and their record in the last 10 games is 4-10. Though, Seattle is currently in a safe place thanks to their strong start earlier.

Seattle’s biggest flaw has been backcourt inconsistency throughout this season. Though, Skylar Diggings has been averaging good, but her intermittent absences have exposed the lack of a reliable scorer. Seattle currently ranks 10th in perimeter shooting this season, hitting only 34.3 percent from three.

WNBA Trade Deadline Predictions – Seattle Storm

Marina Mabrey (Connecticut Sun): The guard is a top target of the Seattle Storm to enhance the backcourt and perimeter shooting. Marina Mabrey brings an instant 14-15 PPG. She has also averaged more than 10 PPG in her last five seasons. She has a 37.8% accuracy from the three point line.

Ariel Atkins (Chicago Sky): Atkins is a secondary backcourt option for the Seattle Storm. She has a 32.1 percent assist rate, second in the league this season. She will also elevate perimeter defense given her credentials as a two time All-defensive team member.

Under the 2025 WNBA hard cap of $1,507,100, with only $42,620 left in cap room, Seattle ranks 10th leaguewide in salary flexibility right now. With no open roster slots, any acquisition must either match incoming and outgoing salaries within this narrow window or involve one of Seattle’s reserve designations.
