Skylar Diggins’ 21 Points Power Seattle Storm to Take Down Chicago Sky in Blowout Fashion

Skylar Diggins came up with 21 points, seven rebounds and three assists to lead the Seattle Storm to a blowout 95-57 victory over the Chicago Sky. What added to the misery for the Sky was the fact that the game was played at their home, Wintrust Arena. Following the defeat, they are now 7-17 in the standings, which records as their worst start through 24 games since the 2006 season, when they recorded a 3-21 start.

For the Storm, Dominique Malonga dropped 14 points, 10 rebounds and three assists. With this, the second overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft became the youngest player in the history to reach 100 career points at the age of 19 years and 250 days. Apart from her, Erica Wheeler came up with 13 points, three rebounds and four assists while Lexie Brown dropped 12 points and two assists.

Seattle Storm Dominate Angel Reese-less Chicago Sky

The Storm, who are 15-10 following the victory, dominated their counterparts right from the beginning. The Sky were without their best player, Angel Reese, and it goes without saying that the Storm made complete use of the opportunity. Reese, who dropped 11 points and 11 rebounds in Tuesday’s loss to the Minnesota Lynx, was sidelined in Thursday’s game due to a back injury.

The Storm were high in confidence and dominated their rivals right from the beginning. After recording a 26-18 lead in the opening quarter, they extended their lead to 39-26 at halftime. They had a 13-1 third quarter advantage before Rachel Banham came up with a three-pointer. Their lead reached 28 points when Brown dropped a three with less than two minutes remaining in the third quarter. At the end of it, Seattle was leading 70-43.

Soon into the fourth quarter, Seattle dropped the first 10 points and recorded an 80-43 lead. While Chicago aimed for a comeback, they couldn’t really do so and ended up on the losing side with a margin of 38 points. For Sky, Kamilla Cardoso and Rachel Banham came up with 13 points each. Apart from her, Elizabeth Williams recorded 11 points, four rebounds and three assists.
