The excitement around the WNBA All-Star Game has taken a major hit amid reports that Caitlin Clark will miss it. The Indiana Fever guard was to captain her side against Team Naphessa Collier. However, that is not expected to happen now.

As a result of that, the ticket prices for the WNBA All-Star game have seen a massive decline. Indianapolis fans were eager to watch their hometown hero lead the weekend, but her absence has caused ticket prices to drop by nearly 48 percent.

The same tickets were available at $121 almost a week ago but now they have dropped to just $64. While the Caitlin Clark effect often boosts engagement, her absence shows there’s a downside that’s now becoming clear in real time. There’s now a strong possibility that the Indianapolis arena may fall short of a full house for the big game.

Why Caitlin Clark Misses All-Star Game?

The Indiana Fever guard was injured in a recent outing against the Connecticut Sun. In the final minutes of the game, Clark suffered a groin injury and exited the court visibly emotional, fighting back tears. She just recently returned from a groin injury and now she remains on the sidelines again.

While her previous injury was at the left side of the groin, the fresh one has happened on the right side. Caitlin Clark’s sophomore season at the WNBA has been filled with fitness issues and a scoring slump. Things are not going according to how she would have liked.

How Long Will Clark Be Out?

Caitlin Clark’s return timeline is unavailable as the Fever management has been tight lipped about the injury. Considering her recurring injuries and visible discomfort, Caitlin Clark might spend even more time on the sidelines than she already has during this challenging sophomore WNBA season.

Clark has missed nine games so far and she looks set to miss another significant spell. Indiana Fever are also expected to be more careful while bringing her back to action.
