2025 WNBA All-Star Weekend: Who Won WNBA All-Star Skills Challenge, 3-Point Contest?

New York Liberty sweeps both events in All-Star Weekend.

The 2025 WNBA All-Star events kicked off on Friday night at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, consisting of the skills challenge and 3-point contest. New York Liberty made a sweep in both Friday events. Caitlin Clark would have participated in her first 3-point contest but she missed out the event due to an ongoing groin injury.

WNBA All-Star Skills Challenge: Natasha Cloud Claims Victory Despite Missing All Threes

Liberty’s Natasha Cloud, Storms’ Erica Wheeler and Skylar Diggins, Dream’s Allisha Gray and Lynx’s Courtney Williams competed in the skill challenge. This competition has two rounds; the top two times from the first round advance to the finals.

Natasha Cloud missed her all three 3-pointers in both rounds but still, claimed the trophy. Seattle’s Erica Wheeler finished second in the challenge. Here’s the result breakdown:

WNBA 3-Point Contest: Sabrina Ionescu Wins 3-Point Contest for Second Time

Sabrina Ionescu completed the sweep for New York Liberty after winning the 3-point contest in the 2025 event. Ionescu won the title in 2023 and dropped a record performance with 30 points on Friday night. The 3-point challenge gives players 70 seconds to shoot up to 27 basketballs. It also had two rounds and top two from the first round reach the finals.

Los Angeles’ Kelsey Plum, Washington’s Sonia Citron, Indiana’s Lexie Hull, New York’s Sabrina Ionescu, and Atlanta’s Allisha Gray competed. In opening round, Sabrina Ionescu and Allisha Gray both tied with 25 points. In the final round, Ionescu dropped 30 points and Gray managed 22, less than the first round. Gray won the 3-point shootout and skills competition last year but fell short in both this time.
