The Golden State Valkyries will be up against the Phoenix Mercury on Monday, July 14 at home, Chase Center. This will be the second time both teams will engage in a clash in the ongoing WNBA season. In their last encounter, the Mercury recorded an 86-77 victory over the Valkyries. The hosts will head into the game on the back of two victories in the last five fixtures. In their last game, they slumped to the Las Vegas Aces with a narrow margin of 104-102. 

The Mercury, on the other hand, are on a two-game winning streak. In their last game, they defeated the Minnesota Lynx 79-71, and recorded their 14th win of the season. Talking about their respective performers, the Valkyries are being led by Kayla Thornton, who is averaging 14.8 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 1.4 assists along with 1.5 steals and 0.2 blocks per game. The Mercury, on the flip side, have Satou Sabally as their top scorer with an average of 19.1 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game.
