Home Favorites vs. Fairytale Finalists: A Wimbledon Doubles Title Hangs in the Balance
Fifth seeds Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool will face first alternates Rinky Hijikata and David Pel in the Wimbledon men’s doubles final today. The British pair enter their maiden Grand Slam final riding a 13-match winning streak, having captured titles at Queen’s Club and Eastbourne. They defeated defending champions Harri Heliovaara and Henry Patten in the quarterfinals, then took out last year’s finalists Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos 6-3, 6-4 in the semis, feeding off a raucous home crowd.
