NFL MVP Odds Week 18 – Two Horse Race As Matthew Stafford Leads Drake Maye for the 2025–26 NFL MVP

Devavrat Kulkarni

May the best man win between Maye and Stafford!

It’s officially the end of the 2025-26 NFL regular season, and with that, we have our 14 teams that have made the playoffs. The postseason is up next, and there is a lot to play for, including the most prestigious trophy in the sport, the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

However, whatever happens in the postseason cannot take away anything from the grueling 18-week NFL regular seasons, which started back in the first week of September 2025. And, in order to commemorate the best player of the league in that period, we have the NFL MVP award, which will be presented in the week leading up to the Super Bowl.

As has been the case for the past few weeks, the 2025-26 NFL MVP odds are dominated by quarterbacks Matthew Stafford and Drake Maye at the top. Both players helped their teams to crushing wins over their opponents, but it was Stafford who had the better overall game.

So with that out of the way, let us take a look at the latest NFL MVP odds after the conclusion of Week 18 of the 2025-26 NFL season.

2025-26 NFL MVP Favorites Right Now

Let us now take a look at the top 3 favorites to land the NFL MVP award this season.

Matthew Stafford (-165)

At the beginning of the season, not many would have expected Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford to have the type of season he had. Suffering from back issues during the offseason and the preseason, Stafford showed no discomfort whatsoever as the season continued.

As a matter of fact, Stafford is miles ahead of the competition when it comes to two passing metrics, total passing yards and the touchdown-to-interception ratio. The veteran finished the season as the league leader with 4,707 passing yards. He also threw 46 touchdowns, which is 8 more than Jared Goff in second place. And through all that, he still had only 8 interceptions on the year.

Additionally, Stafford is also second, only behind rival MVP candidate Drake Maye, with a passer rating of 109. 2, whereas Maye has a rating of 113.5. The NFC West was a tight division this season, but Stafford’s season-long consistency ensured the Rams progressed with 12 wins from 17 games.

Drake Maye (+135)

In just his second year as a professional, quarterback Drake Maye had an exceptional season under new Patriots’ head coach Mike Vrabel. After going 3-9 in the 12 games he started last year, Maye improved to 14-3 in a drastic turn of events.

The youngster’s 4,394 passing yards were good for fourth-best in the league this season, while his 31 touchdowns were third in the league. Maye also finished with just 8 picks on the year, and topped the charts in completion percentage (72%), and passer rating (113.5) among all signal callers. Maye was also quite effective with his legs, picking up crucial yardage as he finished with 450 rushing yards and 4 touchdowns on the ground.

Trevor Lawrence (+30000)

Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence has risen to the third-best odds for the NFL MVP this season, but even then, he is a long shot to win the prestigious award. Lawrence basically had an excellent back end of the season, leading Jacksonville to 8 straight wins.

The Jaguars also had a complete turnaround this season under their newly appointed head coach, Liam Coen. In his fifth year in the league, Lawrence finally showed why he was taken as the number one overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft.

This season, the fifth-year QB finished with 4,007 passing yards and a career best of 26 passing touchdowns, as well as 9 rushing touchdowns.

I am a content writer for the NFL team, and joined The Playoffs after working with Sportskeeda and NFL Analysis as an NFL writer. After starting my professional career as a French-to-English translator, working as a content writer is a new adventure for me. I started out in the sports media field for two main reasons: my love for sports in general, especially the NFL, NBA, and Tennis, as well as my passion for writing. The best part of this job is that I get to write a variety of pieces with the freedom to explore content from various angles. It also enables me to stay up to date with the sporting world, which otherwise can be difficult to do in the day-to-day grind. In a world full of chaos, sports unite and entertain like nothing else!
