With Week 16 of the 2025-26 NFL season in the books, we are left with only two more weeks of regular-season football. After the Colts lost on Monday Night Football (MNF), three more teams, the Bills, Jaguars, and Chargers, booked their spots in the playoffs.
Now, it’s time to turn our attention to Week 17 as more teams look to punch their way to the postseason. Games for the Colts and Ravens from the AFC and the Lions, Buccaneers, and Panthers from the NFC will be crucial for their chances at the postseason.
Here are some of the picks worth considering ahead of the full slate of Week 17 games as per the odds on FanDuel.
The Seahawks are currently on a high after their superb come-from-behind win over the Rams last week. While the Panthers are also playing well and coming off a win over the Bucs last week, Seattle has the better roster on both sides of the ball.
Tampa Bay is currently a game behind Carolina for the top spot in the NFC South. A win against the Dolphins is crucial for their chances to regain the advantage. The Buccaneers’ offense is nearly back to its best after a few weeks when they lacked any punch. Miami’s season is over, and the Dolphins might hand their backups some additional playing time with regard to the future.
The Jaguars and Colts are trending in opposite directions. Jacksonville has clinched a spot in the playoffs, but winning the final two games could land them the number one seed in the AFC. The Colts’ season has turned on its head, and even though Philip Rivers kept them in the Monday Night Football game against the 49ers yesterday for so long, this team doesn’t have a capable defense.
San Francisco has struggled with several injuries to key players, yet it finds ways to win games. The 49ers were once again at their best on Monday against the Colts, and even though the Bears are currently a much superior team than the Colts, San Francisco’s current form of 5 wins in a row provides them a slight advantage, as does their home field.
Heading into Week 17, the Denver Broncos are 12.5-point favorites over the Kansas City Chiefs. Similarly, in another divisional clash, the New England Patriots are also 12.5-point favorites over the New York Jets. The Los Angeles Rams are 8.5-point favorites in their game against the Atlanta Falcons.
Coming to the lines, the Patriots are favored over the Jets by -1200 odds, whereas the Broncos are -820 against the Chiefs. As for the Rams, they are favored by -520 over the Falcons.

nfl I am a content writer for the NFL team, and joined The Playoffs after working with Sportskeeda and NFL Analysis as an NFL writer. After starting my professional career as a French-to-English translator, working as a content writer is a new adventure for me. I started out in the sports media field for two main reasons: my love for sports in general, especially the NFL, NBA, and Tennis, as well as my passion for writing. The best part of this job is that I get to write a variety of pieces with the freedom to explore content from various angles. It also enables me to stay up to date with the sporting world, which otherwise can be difficult to do in the day-to-day grind. In a world full of chaos, sports unite and entertain like nothing else!
