Anthony Davis Trade Rumors: Chicago Bulls Emerge as New Possible Destination for Mavericks Star

New twist in Anthony Davis trade saga!!

The Dallas Mavericks revamp fiasco has taken a new turn. As per the latest development, Chicago Bulls have emerged as the new potential destination for Anthony Davis. Notably, ever since the Mavs let go of their GM and mastermind behind the infamous Luka Doncic Trade, Nico Harrison, there have been rumors that the franchise will now undergo a rebuild. Per reports, the franchise is now aiming to build a roster around star rookie Cooper Flagg, after all their strategies to have a favorable NBA campaign failed.

While minority owner Mark Cuban denied the rumors surrounding Anthony Davis trade, latest reports suggest otherwise. In fact, if latest reports are to be believed, a new possible destination has emerged for the ten-time NBA All-Star, and it is none other than the six time Champions- Chicago Bulls. According to a Western Conference executive, there are chances that Davis could return to his hometown.

“I could see it,” the executive said, per Tim Bontemps. “Giddey has worked well with Vucevic, but he could use a roll man to throw it up to.” Notably, there have been talks that having a dynamic rim runner in the form of Davis would give a boost to the Bulls. Moreover, the Bulls also hold more than 80 million dollars in expiring contracts.

Would Anthony Davis want to Return to Hometown?

Anthony Davis has been a part of the Dallas Mavericks for less than a year as of now. He was traded to the franchise as a part of the Doncic trade in February 2025, and while the franchise was hoping for a successful campaign following it, things didn’t really turn out to be that way. So far, Davis has only played 14 games for the Mavs (nine in 2024-25 and five in 2025-26), due to recurring injury issues.

It is clear that Dallas is not happy with what they received in return for their generational superstar, but now things have gone south, the only option that they have is to go for a restructure. While the Bulls have emerged as a new potential destination for the 32-year-old, the question remains that would he want to go?

Well, according to his college teammate, John Wall, Davis would be open to relocation to Chicago if there was an opportunity. “I wish he was healthy so they could try to see what they have and wait until Kyrie comes back, but I think at this point AD is probably done with it, to be honest,” Wall said.

“I don’t want to speak for him, but he’s probably wanting to move forward. You can’t believe everything you hear on the news, but you be hearing that he wants to go back to Chicago and see what’s going on.”

Well, considering the number of games he has played and the time he has spent on the court, Davis doesn’t have a long-standing loyalty to the team. He has been traded quite a few times in his 13-season-long career, and he understands that at the end of the day, it is all business.
