NFL Analyst Believes the Buffalo Bills Have the ‘Right Ingredients’ to Challenge for a Super Bowl This Year after Their Emphatic Win Over the Chiefs in Week 9!

The game of the week in Week 9 was essentially the AFC heavyweight showdown between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Buffalo Bills on a late Sunday afternoon window from Orchard Park, New York.

These two teams have shared an increasingly passionate rivalry over the past few years, led by their respective quarterbacks, Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen. But, while Allen and the Bills seem to always get the better of Mahomes and the Chiefs in the regular season, the opposite holds true in the postseason.

Having said that, after the latest episode between the teams ended with the Bills thoroughly outplaying the Chiefs and sealing the win 28-21, NFL analysts believe that this Bills team finally has what it will take to go all the way to the Super Bowl this year.

Colin Cowherd Jumps on the Bills Bandwagon

Following the Sunday game between the Bills and Chiefs yesterday, NFL analyst Colin Cowherd and former NFL scout John Middlekauff tuned in to ‘The Colin Cowherd Podcast’ where they shared their two cents on the game.

Cowherd began by comparing how both quarterbacks had completely different outings on Sunday. While Josh Allen looked composed and comfortable for the Bills, Patrick Mahomes was pressured, leading to mistakes, and felt uncomfortable throughout the game. He also went on to praise the Bills’ defense, especially the defensive front that stood out against the Chiefs, even though they were without their best player on the line, Ed Oliver.

Cowherd then proceeded to raise the point that perhaps this Bills team finally has the correct pieces to challenge for the Super Bowl. If the core players, such as Allen and running back James Cook, continue to play at a high level, this could be their year.

“I felt today watching him, I’m like, they’ve got it,” said Cowherd. “They’ve had it before. But Cook playing at this level, Buffalo’s got all the ingredients.”

Can the Bills Go All the Way?

After watching the Week 9 game between the Chiefs and the Bills, we are once again left wondering whether or not Buffalo truly can go all the way to the Super Bowl. Their performances, especially against the likes of the Chiefs in the regular season, have always been positive. However, that has not been the case in the postseason.

As things stand, the Chiefs are currently 5-4 and in third place in the AFC West behind the 7-2 Broncos and the 6-3 Chargers. The Chiefs may even end up missing the postseason this year, but even if they do make it, Buffalo needs to bring the same energy on both sides of the ball once the playoffs arrive.

Looking at the current Bills team, the defense has the ability to step up and make impactful plays. New offseason addition Joey Bosa has provided a boost, while other members of the defense also showed their ability to disrupt a quality opponent such as the Chiefs.

On the other side of the ball, running back James Cook has become a key performer on a weekly basis, while Josh Allen remains one of the top signal callers in today’s game. If tight end Dalton Kincaid can continue to provide pass-catching support to the likes of Keon Coleman and Khalil Shakir, the Buffalo Bills truly possess a talented roster capable of defeating any team on their day.
