In one of the most exciting early season game nights in the NBA, underdog teams pulled off stunning upset over their dominating rivals. On Saturday, November 1, the Houston Rockets handed a 128-101 defeat to the eighteen time champions, Boston Celtics. On the other hand, an injury-riddled Indiana Pacers team handed a 114-109 loss to the Golden State Warriors to record their first win of the season. In addition to it, the Sacramento Kings snapped their three-game losing skid by taking over the Milwaukee Bucks.
The results shook up the standings and handed some top teams early season setbacks. Here are the NBA results for Saturday.
The Sacramento Kings, one of the weakest teams in the ongoing season so far, ended their three-game losing streak by handing a 135-133 defeat to the Milwaukee Bucks. Zach LaVine led the Kings with 31 points, four rebounds, and two assists. He was shooting 8-of-17 from the field, 6-of-13 from the three-point range, and 9-of-10 from the free throw line. DeMar DeRozan dropped 29 points, four rebounds, and three assists. Apart from them, Domantas Sabonis and Dennis Shcroder chipped in 24 points each as Sacramento recorded its second victory of the season.
Overall, the Kings were shooting 51.7% from the field and 35.7% from the three-point range. They were 87.5% from the free-throw line.
On the other hand, the Milwaukee Bucks were led by Giannis Antetokounmpo, who returned to action after missing the previous game against the Golden State Warriors with knee soreness. Antetokounmpo dropped 26 points, 11 rebounds, and eight assists, while shooting 8-of-13 from the field and 1-1 from deep. Apart from him, Kyle Kuzma was the only player to have finished with 20 or more points. He came up with 22 points, one rebound, and one assist. AJ Green and Gary Trent Jr. came up with 17 points each while Ryan Rollins and Bobby Portis added 16 points each to the scoreboard.
The Bucks shot 49-of-82 (59.8%) from the field and 15-of-32 (46.9%) from the three-point range. They were 64.5% from the free-throw line.
The wait is finally over for the Indiana Pacers fans! The Pacers handed a 114-109 loss to the Golden State Warriors to register their first win of the NBA 2025-26 season. Aaron Nesmith and Quenton Jackson recorded their career highs as injury-riddled Pacers moved past the victory line to end their five-game losing skid. After having finished the previous season as the finalists, the Pacers were hoping for a sound start to the new campaign.
However, their elongated injury report with as many as seven players, led them to being the third team ever to start 0-5 after making the Finals. The other two teams were the 2018-19 Cavaliers and 2001-02 Philadelphia 76ers.
Quenton Jackson and Aaron Nesmith recorded career-highs with 25 points and 31 points, respectively. In addition to it, Jackson came up with clutch heroics, including a three-pointer with over a minute left to put the Pacers ahead 109-107. Even in the final five seconds, he dropped a bucket, which further extended the gap between the two teams and the Pacers won it 114-109. Pascal Siakam contributed 27 points, five rebounds, and three assists.
The hosts were shooting 44.9% from the field and 30.3% from the three-point range, while limiting their rivals to 43.3% from the field, and 27.3% from the arc. The Dubs, who headed into the game with a 4-2 tally, were led by Stephen Curry’s 24 points and two assists. Jimmy Butler added 20 points, Jonathan Kuminga dropped 17 points, and Brandin Podziemski tallied 16 points, respectively.
The Houston Rockets recorded their third straight win as they took down the Boston Celtics 128-101 in their own backyard. The Rockets were led by their offseason acquisition, Kevin Durant, who dropped 26 points, four rebounds, and one assist. Durant was shooting 8-of-11 from the field and 2-of-3 from beyond the arc.
Amen Thompson followed him with 17 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists on 6-of-12 from the field and 1-of-1 from the three-point range. Alperen Sengun added 16 points, while four players, including Jabari Smith Jr, Josh Okogie, Tari Eason, and Reed Sheppard dropped 12 points each. Overall, the Rockets were 52.5% from the field, 65.5% from the three-point range and 71.4% from the free-throw line, while restricting their counterparts to 38.8% from the field and 31.8% from the deep.
The Boston Celtics had a limited scoring night, where none of their players managed to reach the 20-point mark. Baylor Scheierman led the charts with 17 points, while Payton Pritchard added 14 points, and Jaylen Brown came up with 12 points. In addition to them, Josh Minott and Jordan Walsh added 10 points each to the overall tally.
