The 76ers are one of the four teams which are undefeated in the ongoing season.
The Philadelphia 76ers will host the Boston Celtics for the opening game of the 2025 NBA Cup on Friday, October 31, at Wells Fargo Center, in Philadelphia. The 76ers handed a 139-134 defeat to the Washington Wizards in their most recent game. Following a disappointing and injury-riddled campaign in the previous season, the 76ers had a hot start to the 2025-26 season. They are one of the four teams to remain undefeated.
The Boston Celtics, on the other hand, didn’t enjoy much success in the previous NBA year. While they were hoping to repeat their championship heroics, the New York Knicks took them down in the conference semis and crushed their dreams. Adding to their woes, star Jayson Tatum suffered an Achilles tendon tear, which would keep him out for most, if not all, of the current season.
The Celtics have had an unfavorable start to the current campaign, where they suffered three losses in five games. They lost the first three games before taking down the New Orleans Pelicans and Cleveland Cavaliers in the next two games, respectively. Now that the Celtics have seemingly gotten into momentum, they would aim to continue it and defeat the 76ers to extend their win streak to three games.
That said, let’s get into the injury reports and predicted starting lineups as both teams gear up for the opening night of NBA Cup 2025.
