Memphis Grizzlies vs Los Angeles Lakers Injury Report and Predicted Starting Lineups- Los Angeles Lakers Share Positive Update on Luka Doncic

Garima Ranawat

The Grizzlies will host the Lakers in the 2025 NBA Cup opener.

The Memphis Grizzlies will host the Los Angeles Lakers on the opening day of the 2025 NBA Cup on Friday, October 31. Currently occupying the seventh spot in the Western Conference, the Grizzlies will head into the game on the back of a one-point win over the Phoenix Suns. The game saw Ja Morant leading the Grizzlies with 28 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists, while Jaren Jackson Jr. contributed 18 points, along with 14 points each from Cedric Coward and Santi Aldama.

On the other hand, the Los Angeles Lakers, despite missing superstars including Luka Doncic and LeBron James, have been faring well under Austin Reaves. He followed up back-to-back 40-plus point games with a buzzer beater as the Lakers took down the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday. The 27-year-old is playing the best basketball of his career, and while the team is safe with him as well as their rotational depth, fans are awaiting the return of Doncic, considering James will be out until mid of November.
