Recommended Bets and Updated Odds

Recommended Bets FanDuel BetMGM
Victor Wembanyama O 28.5 Points -108-110
Bam Adebayo O 21.5 Points -130-118
Total points U 230.5 -110-110

Analysis and Rationale

Victor Wembanyama, who was a strong DPOY contender last season, had an unfortunate end to his campaign due to a blood clot in left shoulder. However, now that he is back, he is off to an MVP-caliber start, averaging 31.0 points per game. In the last three games, he has dropped 24, 31 and 29 points, respectively. Not only this, but he began the season with a 40-point performance against the Mavericks. Home court advantage will benefit him on Thursday, and over 28.5 points look like a safe bet.

Bam Adebayo, the second-leading scorer for the Heat after Norman Powell, has been averaging 21.0 points per game. In the most recent game against the Hornets, he came up with 26 points, six rebounds, and two assists. Facing a young Spurs’ defense, we can expect Adebayo to feast in the paint or mid-range and score over 22 points.

Miami Heat are known for creating pace and are currently leading the league in pace of play. They like to create turnovers, play fast, and bottom threes. The Spurs, on the other hand, slow the pace down. They are currently ranked 27th in the league in terms of pace at 97.58, just behind the Oklahoma City Thunder. The young Spurs squad including Stephon Castley and Dylan Harper would be expected to control the ball. It is expected to be a low-scoring affair, with a total under 232.5 points.

San Antonio Spurs vs Miami Heat Predictions

After a couple of days’ off the Spurs step onto the court on Thursday aiming to get off to the franchise’s best start of a season, winning five straight games. The Spurs, who statistically have the best defense in the league, will be without De’Aaron Fox, Jeremy Sochan, Luke Kornet, and Kelly Olynyk, who are out with injuries. However, if you see it, they have fared just fine without key contributors.

While they might have not faced it yet, the Miami Heat present tough challenges for the up-and-coming Spurs. The Heat have stout defenders like Bam Adebayo, Kel’el Ware, who can play with physicality with Wembanyama. But, similar to the Spurs, the Heat will also be shorthanded as they miss their star guard Tyler Herro while Norman Powell has been listed as doubtful.

The Heat are also in red-hot form and are capable of presenting a good test for the hosts. However, the Spurs would make the most of their home-court advantage and would be backed by a favored crowd to come on top in the upcoming game.
