Arsenal vs Brighton FA Cup Fixture – Injury News, Match Preview and Predicted Line-Ups

Moumita Dutta

Arsenal will look to continue their winning momentum when they welcome Brighton & Hove Albion to the Emirates Stadium in the Carabao Cup fourth round. Mikel Arteta’s side are entering this match in excellent form..They’re unbeaten in their last ten matches across all competitions.

With that, they’re boasting one of the meanest defences in English football. A strong Premier League run has them flying high. However domestic silverware is on offer in this clash. So, the Gunners’ focus will briefly shift to cup duty.

Meanwhile, Brighton are arriving with a fascinating mix of confidence and inconsistency. Fabian Hurzeler’s men were outclassed by Manchester United last weekend. But they’ve been breathtaking in the Carabao Cup.

They’ve registered back-to-back 6–0 wins against Oxford United and Barnsley. The Seagulls’ free-flowing, high-pressing football has made them one of the most entertaining sides in the competition. Yet they’re facing a massive test against a disciplined Arsenal outfit.

Arsenal’s weekend win against Crystal Palace came at a fitness cost. William Saliba and Gabriel Martinelli are sidelined with knocks. Meanwhile Martin Odegaard, Kai Havertz, Noni Madueke, and Gabriel Jesus remain long-term absentees. Declan Rice and Riccardo Calafiori both picked up minor issues as well. However, they have been declared fit.

Arteta is expected to rotate his lineup. Piero Hincapie is in line for a first start and youngsters like Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly are pushing to be featured. Bukayo Saka, recently ill, is likely to be rested. Despite injuries, Arsenal’s depth allows them to field a strong XI that will be capable of maintaining momentum.

Brighton Injury News

Brighton’s injury list remains lengthy. Kaoru Mitoma, Joel Veltman, Brajan Gruda, and James Milner all remain unavailable for the clash. Long-term absentees, like Solly March, Jack Hinshelwood, and Adam Webster will also miss out. Hurzeler may rely on youthful energy once again, with Diego Gomez. He was the standout performer in earlier rounds.

So, Gomez will be pushing for a start after his four-goal heroics at Barnsley. The Seagulls’ dynamic approach, built around quick transitions and pressing, could see Yankuba Minteh and Ferdi Kadioglu feature prominently on the flanks. Jason Steele, Diego Coppola, and Gomez are expected to return to the starting lineup as Brighton chase a rare cup quarter-final berth.

Brighton Probable Starting Lineup:

Steele; De Cuyper, Boscagli, Dunk, Wieffer; Ayari, Baleba; Minteh, Rutter, Gomez; Welbeck
