Liverpool are set to host Crystal Palace at Anfield on Wednesday night in the Carabao Cup fourth round. They will be seeking to halt a dreadful run that has seen them lose five of their last six matches in all competitions. Arne Slot’s side have looked a shadow of their early-season selves.
They’ve been struggling for defensive solidity and consistency in front of goal. After falling against Brentford in another chaotic Premier League outing, the Reds must respond quickly to prevent their season from spiraling further.

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace are arriving with their own frustrations. However, they can take encouragement from their recent record against Liverpool. Oliver Glasner’s men have already defeated the Reds twice this season. Once in the Community Shield and in the Premier League.
With those wins, they are now unbeaten at Anfield since 2021. Both teams are desperate for a response after a dip in form. Additionally, the visitors’ organised setup and recent success against Slot’s side promise a tense, high-stakes encounter under the Anfield lights.

Liverpool’s injury list continues to grow. Alisson Becker and Jeremie Frimpong are suffering from hamstring issues, Alexander Isak is nursing a groin injury, Ryan Gravenberch is out with an ankle problem, and Giovanni Leoni is yet to recover from an ACL injury.
Curtis Jones remains doubtful as well after picking up a knock at Brentford. Meanwhile, youngsters Stefan Bajcetic and Jayden Danns are also unavailable. Arne Slot may use this tie to rotate his squad.
Freddie Woodman could be handed his debut in goal. Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konaté should anchor the defence. Hugo Ekitike could lead the line in a reshaped 4-2-3-1 setup featuring Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo on the flanks for attacking spark.

Crystal Palace are handling their own list of absentees. They remain without Cheick Doucoure, Chadi Riad, Caleb Kporha, and Chris Richards due to injury. Meanwhile, fatigue could prompt rotation from Oliver Glasner.
Dean Henderson is expected to start in goal behind a back three of Marc Guehi, Maxence Lacroix, and Richards. Daniel Munoz and Tyrick Mitchell should operate as wing-backs, offering defensive cover and width on transitions.
Will Hughes and Adam Wharton should control midfield. They could be supported by Daichi Kamada and Ismaila Sarr in advanced roles. Eddie Nketiah, who struck the winner in their September meeting with Liverpool, could start up front as the Eagles chase another famous Anfield result.
