Barcelona vs Olympiacos Preview, Betting Odds and Predictions – 21/10/25

Moumita Dutta

Barcelona will aim to register their second win of the Champions League league phase when they host Olympiacos at the Lluis Companys Olympic Stadium on Tuesday night. The Catalans are heading into the clash eager to build consistency before a crucial El Clásico weekend.

Meanwhile, Olympiacos are still chasing their first win of the campaign after collecting just one point from their opening two matches. The Greek champions are returning to Europe’s elite competition hoping to end a long streak of group-stage disappointments.

Barcelona vs Olympiacos Preview

Barcelona

Barcelona’s morale is lifted after a dramatic derby win over Girona. Ronald Araujo’s stoppage-time strike secured a 2-1 win for them in that match. However, Hansi Flick’s side still face selection concerns ahead of the European tie. Robert Lewandowski is ruled out for around a month with a hamstring problem. Raphinha remains doubtful as well.

Long-term absentees Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Gavi, Dani Olmo, and Joan Garcia are still recovering. Ferran Torres could return if he passes a late fitness test, while Araujo and Gerard Martin are pushing for starting roles. Flick may rotate key players such as Pedri and Alejandro Balde to manage workloads before facing Real Madrid.

Olympiacos

Olympiacos are entering the contest on the back of a morale-boosting 2-0 win over AEL Larissa. Ayoub El Kaabi’s brace sealed the win for them. The forward is expected to lead the attack again, having netted five times in ten appearances this season. Head coach Jose Luis Mendilibar will be without Rodinei and Gabriel Strefezza through injury.

Several players, including Remy Cabella, Ruben Vezo, and Yusuf Yazici, also remain ineligible for the European squad. Lorenzo Pirola is set to partner with Panagiotis Retsos in central defence. Dani Garcia and Gelson Martins could get potential recalls. The Greek side have lost their last 11 Champions League group-stage matches. They will need a disciplined display to challenge at Montjuic.

Barcelona vs Olympiacos Over/ Under Predictions

Total Goals Over 3.5 @ -110 as per BetMGM:

Barcelona’s attacking fire-power and Olympiacos’ fragile defensive posture suggests a lively game on Tuesday night. Barcelona remain heavy favourites. But they are travelling with several key absences. It could force a more open game and boost the likelihood of goals picked up at either end.

Barcelona have scored in almost every home fixture this season. Whereas, Olympiacos are one of only two teams yet to score in this season’s Champions League group phase.  With Barcelona likely to dominate possession and push for goals, and Olympiacos under pressure but still capable of replies, the over 3.5 target at -110 appears well justified.

Barcelona vs Olympiacos Player Picks

Marcus Rashford to score anytime @ -110 as per FanDuel:

Backing Marcus Rashford to score at anytime at -110 also garners logic. Rashford has already produced strong output since arriving at Barcelona. He has already registered multiple goal contributions in recent appearances. Olympiacos have some glaring defensive vulnerabilities. And considering Rashford’s positioning as an important attacking outlet in the absence of key forwards for Barcelona, the odds reflect a realistic chance of him finding the net.

Lamine Yamal to either score or assist anytime @ -190 as per FanDuel:

Lamine Yamal’s creative prominence and the freedom afforded to him by Barcelona’s system is unavoidable. Now with multiple senior attackers sidelined, selecting him to score or assist at anytime at -190 seems justified. Despite some injury doubts, Yamal remains a clear offensive threat. Barcelona are expected to push for goals and with Yamal likely involved in and around the final third. Hence, the odds for a direct goal-or-assist involvement make sense.

Barcelona possess superior quality and home advantage despite their recent defensive hiccups and injury list. Olympiacos, yet to win in this group stage and lacking in goals so far, look likely to concede but still fire a warning.

Final Prediction: Barcelona 3-1 Olympiacos

Expect a comfortable but not flawless win for Barcelona, possibly with a 3-1 scoreline, aligning with both teams’ forms.
