Is Xavier Worthy Playing Tonight? All About Why is Xavier Worthy Questionable for Week 5 MNF Game vs Jaguars

Eric Divakaran

The Kansas City Chiefs are travelling on the road to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars for Week 5’s Monday Night Football action. The Chiefs have won two straight games, after losing the first two to open their season. They lost to the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 1 at Brazil, and the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 2. However, the Chiefs bounced back by defeating the New York Giants in Week 3 and the Baltimore Ravens in Week 4. Now they are trying to get another victory on the road, but there is a huge problem.

Chiefs’ wideout Xavier Worthy is listed as questionable for the game against the Patriots in Week 5. Worthy initially missed Weeks 2 and 3 this season with a shoulder injury, clashing against his own teammate, TE Travis Kelce, and dislocating his shoulder. While Worthy made his return in Week 4 and made an immediate impact, his presence on the field is yet again questionable due to another injury. Let’s find out what exactly.

Is Xavier Worthy Playing Tonight?

Xavier Worthy is listed as questionable with shoulder/ankle injury for tonight’s game against the Jaguars, despite being a full participant on Thursday and Friday’s practices.

However, according Ian Rapoport, this morning on NFL Network he reported that Xavier Worthy’s ankle injury being mentioned on the injury report is a “precaution.” Rapoport added that Worthy is “fine and expected to go” tonight for the Chiefs’ game against the Jaguars.

Xavier Worthy’s Importance to the Chiefs

Worthy has been great for the Chiefs are returning from his initial shoulder injury he suffered in Week 1. In Week 4 he delivered with 83 receiving yards, 5 receptions, and 38 rushing yards, proving how dangerous he is and how much their QB Patrick Mahomes relies on him to make plays for the Chiefs.

If Worthy is ready to play tonight, the Chiefs should be able to pull off a win on the road. However, if he does not, the Chiefs will have to find different ways to win, with extra pressure on Mahomes.

I cover the National Football League and things cannot get better than that. I always dreamed to play football or basketball professionally since I’m built like a Running Back. But now that I can’t, since I’m technically in the “Unc” age, I thought why not pick a career in sports industry? So here I am, doing what I love, and hoping that the Commanders win the Super Bowl. I give love to players when it’s due, but can be critical about their performances at the same time. Enough about me, now let my articles do all the talking.
