Novak Djokovic will make his 53rd appearance at the Grand Slam semifinals.
24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic defeated the 2024 runner up and world No. 4 Taylor Fritz 6-3, 7-5, 3-6, 6-4 to reach his 14th semifinal at the US Open. At the age of 38, the Serbian superstar is ready to roar at the final Grand Slam of the season. Ahead of the semifinals, Djokovic dropped a big statement which can surprise the tennis fans.

Novak Djokovic will make his 53rd appearance at the Grand Slam semifinals and he is the only player, who reached the top-four all four Majors this season. If Jannik Sinner reaches the semifinals, he will also join Djokovic to play all four Grand Slam semifinals this year. The 38-year-old also extended his winning streak against Taylor Fritz to 11 matches.
Djokovic, who became the oldest player to reach the semifinals of all four Slams, opened on Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner, who are currently top-two players in the men’s singles. The duo competed in the French Open and Wimbledon finals this year. They have formed a new rivalry in tennis and considering the form, we will see a new era in the game.
After the match, Djokovic said he thought he was “lucky” at times, adding: “It was an incredibly close match, it was really anybody’s match. I think for most of the second and third sets he was the better player.”
During the press conference, the four-time champion looked optimistic to chase his historic 25th Grand Slam glory and made a bold prediction on the US Open final. He talked about Sinner and Alcaraz, who are favorites to reach the finals this year. Djokovic hailed both players, saying, “Well, I mean, we don’t need to spend words about two of them. You know, we know they are the two best players in the world.’

Djokovic directly jumped into the potential US Open final. The 38-year-old said everyone wants Sinner-Alcaraz final but he will spoils plan of most of the people. It means, Djokovic is keen to play the finals at US Open and this time, he looks promising good on hard court.
“Everybody’s probably expecting and anticipating the final between two of them. I’m going to, try to you know, mess up the plans of most of the people and let’s see,” Djokovic said. “You know, Sinner still has to win a couple of matches to get to the finals, but they are playing definitely the best tennis of any player here. You know, they have been a dominant force since the beginning of the tournament.”

Novak Djokovic will take on world No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz in the 2025 US Open semifinals. The Spaniard earned his spot in the final four on Tuesday after securing the straight-set victory over Czech Jiri Lehecka. If Djokovic beats the Spaniard in semifinals, he will mess up the plan of those tennis fans who wanted to the third consecutive Grand Slam final between Sinner and Alcaraz.
Remaining two quarterfinals will be held in New York on Wednesday. Eighth seed Alex de Minaur faces Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime before world No. 1 Jannik Sinner takes on fellow Italian Lorenzo Musetti. Fans are also looking at a beautiful script to Djokovic’s 25th major title. They want him to beat Alcaraz and Sinner in semifinals and finals to clinch the historic Grand Slam title.
