Inter Milan began their Serie A campaign in style with a thumping 5-0 win against Torino at the San Siro. However, the dominant performance was played against a backdrop of tension. The club’s most passionate supporters, the Curva Nord, continued their protest by boycotting the stadium.

The Curva Nord previously announced that they will remain outside San Siro “until further notice.” This decision follows new restrictions introduced by authorities on organized fan groups. These measures include tighter controls on flags and banners, which now require prior approval.

It also includes a ban on certain individuals who have been ‘blacklisted’ from entering the stadium. In a statement, the ultras declared: “From today the organized groups will remain outside the Stadio Meazza until further notice.” They urged other supporters inside the stadium to join the silent protest as well Both Inter and AC Milan fan groups have adopted the motto: “Enjoy your theater.”

Why Are Inter Milan Ultras Boycotting?

The protest is not only about stadium restrictions. In recent weeks, the Curva Nord also voiced anger over what they called ‘unprecedented abuse’ by the club. Their grievances include a sharp increase in ticket prices. limitations on chants and choreography, and the exclusion of many members from purchasing season tickets.

These rules and sanctions were largely expected after investigations into connections between ultras and organized crime groups. However, for supporters who view themselves as the heartbeat of the club. Hence, the crackdown feels like an attack on their identity.
