Bournemouth Seal £25M Deal for Bayer Leverkusen Winger Amine Adli

Bournemouth have completed the signing of Morocco international Amine Adli from Bayer Leverkusen in a deal worth £25.1m. The 25-year-old winger has signed a five-year contract at the Vitality Stadium and becomes the Cherries’ seventh addition of the summer window. Capable of playing on either flank or as a number 10, Adli is expected to provide immediate competition in Andoni Iraola’s attack.

At Bournemouth, Adli is likely to slot into Iraola’s 4-1-4-1 system on the left wing. His versatility means he could also feature centrally as an attacking midfielder when required. At 25, Adli still has room for growth and offers Bournemouth both athleticism and tactical flexibility.

Bournemouth Was the Perfect Place for Me: Adli

Adli’s signing is seen as a strategic addition, strengthening Bournemouth’s attacking depth as they aim to consolidate their place in the Premier League and push further up the table this season. Adli leaves Leverkusen after three seasons, where he made 143 appearances, scoring 10 goals and providing 12 assists.

The 2023-24 campaign was his most productive, registering 42 outings as Xabi Alonso’s side won a historic Bundesliga and German Cup double. After signing for Bournemouth, Adli said,

“I’m very proud to play for a club like Bournemouth. I was looking at my next move and I felt like Bournemouth was the perfect place for me.”

With Luis Sinisterra sidelined and David Brooks playing out of position on the left against Liverpool in the season-opener, there is a clear opening in the Bournemouth starting XI. Adli’s arrival continues Bournemouth’s ambitious rebuild under American owner Bill Foley, who has invested close to £350m in new players since taking charge in January 2023. Bournemouth have been active in the summer transfer window selling Milos Kerkez, Dean Huijsen, and Illia Zabarnyi for a combined £150m to Liverpool, Real Madrid, and Paris Saint-Germain respectively.
