Winner to face Sabalenka or Vondrousova in Round-3.
British No. 1 Emma Raducanu will take on Serbian southpaw Olga Danilovic in the 2025 Cincinnati Open Round of 64. Danilovic prevented the possibility of an all-British second round battle by taking out 29-year-old Katie Boulter in her opening match. Can she beat another British title hope and continue her good run? We look to break down this encounter, with the help of our very own BetMGM.
The head-to-head record between these two players stands at 0-0; it is set to be their first meeting on tour. Both players are searching for their first title of the season here in the USA. While the 22-year-old former US Open winner got off to a slow start in 2025, she ignited hope by reaching the Miami Open quarterfinal. Around the same time, her Serbian counterpart won the WTA-125 in Antalya, and followed it up with a runner-up finish at the Open de Rouen.

Since then, Danilovic has failed to get past the Round of 32 in seven events. Currently ranked No. 43 in the world, she comes into this match with a 21-13 record. On the other hand, Raducanu is ranked four spots above the left-hander and enters the tournament as the 30th seed. During the grass court season, the former Top-10 player reached the QF in Queen’s Club and Round-3 at Wimbledon. She followed it up with a semifinals run at the Citi DC Open.

Kicking off the tournament against a left-handed flat striker of the ball is going to be a tricky proposition for Raducanu. After all, the Serb dismantled a solid opponent in Boulter – particularly in the opening set. Danilovic will look to nail some wide serves and generate angles to prevent the Briton from controlling the mid-court exchanges. While there will be a lot of power involved throughout the contest, the player who can change the pace of the rallies will dominate proceedings.
Prediction: Olga Danilovic in three sets.
Raducanu starts this match as the firm favourite against Danilovic, who is the underdog. The betting market suggests a straight sets win for the 22-year-old, with a slight chance of Danilovic edging out the second set. Here are the match-specific odds for Saturday (as per BetMGM):
