Clark Nears WNBA Return, Praises Team’s Resilience in Her Absence
Caitlin Clark is currently serving time outside the court due to a quad injury. In her absence, the Indiana Fever have struggled through a string of losses, highlighting just how crucial their starting point guard is to the team. However, the Fever managed to win against the Washington Mystics, having some momentum before Clark returns.
There’s no confirmed return date yet, as Caitlin Clark continues recovering and prefers not to rush or pressure herself back into action. However, the 23-year-old is closer to action than before. In a recent media engagement, she spoke about her injury status and how she’s been feeling.

Caitlin Clark said, “I feel like I’ve made a lot of progress and I feel good, and I’m not going to rush coming back. It’s just not worth it. But after this weekend, I’ll be re-evaluated and we’ll have a better idea of when I’ll return.”
The sophomore star suffered the injury on Memorial Day and has been sidelined ever since. In her absence, ratings and ticket prices for Indiana Fever games have noticeably dipped, showing her growing influence in the WNBA league.
Caitlin Clark was full of praise for her teammates who have been grinding without her on the court. While talking briefly about the win against the Washington Mystics, the 23-year-old suggested how proud she was seeing everyone had stepped up.
Clark said, “I think they have been really resilient. It’s hard when your point guard goes out that controls a lot of the game. People have had to step in the positions maybe then haven’t had. Things aren’t always going to be perfect. I think we played a really great game against the Mystics. Everybody has kind of stepped up.”
The Indiana Fever will return to action on Saturday against the Chicago Sky. The rivalry between the Sky and the Fever requires no explanation but it will miss the usual spark due to Caitlin Clark’s absence.
