Cole Palmer Stars in 4–1 Comeback Win As Enzo Maresca Leads Blues to European Glory.

Chelsea completed a historic sweep of European trophies as they got a commanding 4-1 win over Real Betis in the UEFA Conference League final in Wroclaw. Enzo Maresca’s side overcame a sluggish first half with a second-half blitz.

It was inspired by a player-of-the-match performance from Cole Palmer. The Premier League side initially struggled to impose themselves, and Real Betis capitalized on their early control. Former Real Madrid star Isco delivered a clever no-look assist for Abde Ezzalzouli.

Ezzalzouli made to mistake to fire past Filip Jorgensen in the ninth minute. The Spanish outfit maintained pressure throughout the first half. They created several chances but for Johnny Cardoso and Marc Bartra and going begging as Chelsea looked off the pace.

Cole Palmer Inspires Comeback for Chelsea

Maresca responded with tactical tweaks at half-time. Notably, he replaced Malo Gusto with captain Reece James. Palmer moved into a more central role and began to dictate proceedings. He flourished particularly after Betis left-back Ricardo Rodriguez was forced off through injury.

The breakthrough for the Blues came in the 65th minute when Palmer delivered a perfect cross from the right for Euppernzo Fernandez. Fernandez glanced in a header to level the score. Five minutes later, the England international beat Romaine Perraud and sent in another delivery.

This time, Nicolas Jackson converted to give Chelsea the lead. Chelsea’s intensity didn’t waver. And they punished Betis further late in the match. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall intercepted a throw-in and surged forward before laying the ball off to Jadon Sancho.

The winger cut inside and curled a superb effort into the far corner for 3-1. Moises Caicedo then capped the performance in stoppage time. He put the last mail on the coffin as he fired home from the edge of the box after a smart one-two with Fernandez.

A Trophy That Completes the Set

The win marks Chelsea’s first UEFA Conference League title and confirms their unique status as the only club to win all five of UEFA’s major men’s club competitions. They’ve now won the Champions League, Europa League, UEFA Super Cup, Cup Winners’ Cup, and the Conference League.
