Exploring CR7’s Future: Will He Return to Europe or Seek New Horizons?
Cristiano Ronaldo addressed the football world with a surprise as he might’ve called his Al-Nassr Chapter ‘Over’ in his latest social media post. After 111 appearances and 99 goals for the Saudi club, Ronaldo has hinted that he will look for a new home ahead of his 2025 Club World Cup participation rumours.
The elite striker who has aged like wine over the past decade will have multiple favourable destinations following his departure news. Clubs from several leagues like Serie A and Türkiye have shown interest in the 40-year-old ahead of the summer tournament in the United States of America.

A return to his boyhood club Sporting CP is also very likely for Ronaldo in the summer. With Viktor Gyokeres on the verge of departing from Lisbon, the all-time goalscorer could head back to Sporting to help them at the Club World Cup 2025.
Ronaldo’s mother, Dolores Aveiro, has always expressed her desire to see her son back in Portugal soon. With a move in sight, this might be the time Aveiro might see her lifelong wish come true.
With so much success in the Saudi Pro League, Ronaldo could make a sensible move to Al-Hilal. Through their participation in the Club World Cup, the former Real Madrid man could get a swing at the tournament as not a lot changes for him and his family.

Turkish club Galatasaray has been heavily linked to Ronaldo over the past few weeks. With their participation in the 2025 Club World Cup, the Portuguese could join Okan Buruk’s squad in America. Moreover, after the exit talks of Victor Osimhen, Galatasaray will need a marksman for the big competition.
Other than these three clubs, Chelsea, an unknown Brazilian side and a few others have also made reported contact with Ronaldo. As FIFA president Gianni Infantino said in his move to be in discussions a few weeks back, the face of football could come back to light up this newly redesigned Club World Cup.
Ronaldo was also linked back to Real Madrid during the last winter break. With Xabi Alonso taking over, the former Real Madrid teammates can also unite again in different roles this time. However, given the attacking prowess they possess, it is likely to lean that way.
