Everything You Need to Know About Arsenal vs Newcastle: Match Insights, Injuries, and Odds

Arsenal will host Newcastle United at the Emirates Stadium in the big game on Sunday in the Premier League. After losing out on the UCL and Liverpool being crowned champions, Mikel Arteta’s wait for a trophy will continue next season. However, Newcastle, which just trails by two points, could snatch the second place from the Gunners if they go on to lose on Sunday.

Eddie Howe is leading Newcastle to a decent season with only one loss from the last 10 games. Picking crucial points from Chelsea and Brighton over the weeks, the Magpies will come with a hunger to take Arsenal down. Moreover, with three of the last three games won against Arsenal, Howe and his team will enter London with confidence.

Arsenal Injury News

Kai Havertz has returned to training this week in the latest injury reports for Arsenal. The German, being out since January, has made an unexpected early comeback to training following his surgery. On being asked if he could appear against Newcastle, Mikel Arteta in the pre-match conference said:

“We’re going to decide that tomorrow. He’s done certain parts of the sessions in the last two days and looks in great shape, but I think it’s more of a shout for all the medical staff”

Jurrien Timber has also been grappling with injuries recently, and the manager will continue to evaluate each player’s condition before deciding on who will face the Magpies.

Newcastle Injury News

Newcastle United will continue to have some of their main players sidelined due to injury. Latest on the list, Sven Botman took a knock in the previous game. Talking about his availability, Edie Howe in his pre-match interview said:

“It was a knock – he got a bang on his knee. We’re not sure about Sven’s availability for the weekend, but we’ll give him a chance to be fit.”

Talking further on the injury news, Howe addressed that Kieran Trippier will stay out as he also talked bout Joe Willock’s recovery,

“Kieran, I don’t think you will be fit for this weekend, but again, it’s not a big injury, a very minor calf problem. Joe – we’ll leave the door open for him, I think he’s got a slight chance.”

Apart from these players, Howe also disclosed that Joellington is closer to recovery but is still not fit. Jamaal Lascelles has had very little recovery and could be out for a while, as per the manager.
