San Francisco 49ers Schedule 2025 Season – 49ers Regular Season Games, Dates, Locations and More

Rudra Dubey

The San Francisco 49ers had a very rough season last year. They finished the season with a 6-11 record, which put them dead last in the NFC West. The team also missed the playoffs completely in 2024, which was for the first time since 2020. Coming off a 12-5 season, an NFC championship, and a Super Bowl appearance in 2023, this was a steep drop. In fact it is for the first time that the 49ers have had a losing season under head coach Kyle Shanahan and GM John Lynch since 2020, which was also filled with injuries just like the 2024 season.

How did the 49ers perform last season?

Last season, they started 3-3 but had a difficult stretch in the midseason, winning only 3 out of the 11 games. Surprisingly, the 49ers were top 10 in defense and offense, ranking 8th and 4th, respectively. They went 4-5 at home and 2-6 on the road, and also lost to the Cardinals for the first time since 2021. After their tremendous success in the 2023 season, the 49ers did not even look like a playoff-bound team last season.

Injuries were one of the main reasons why the 49ers could not maintain their success, as their star RB Christian McCaffrey tore his PCL in Week 12 against the Bills and finished his season with just 202 rushing yards. Unfortunately, the injuries did not stop there as their receiver Brandon Aiyuk tore his ACL and MCL playing against the Bills. It was just one bad thing after another as other players, such as Trent Williams, Dre Greenlaw, were also on the injured reserve list.

The team was never fully healthy and that hurt them severely on the field. However, there is optimism that once all of their players return, the 49ers should go back to their winning ways. With that said, let us look at the 49ers’ schedule for the 2025 season.

San Francisco 49ers’ Biggest Offseason Moves

San Francisco has had to deal with several key players leaving the roster this offseason. Part of that is most likely due to the impending contract extension for quarterback Brock Purdy. They have lost some important players such as Deebo Samuel, Javon Hargrave, Talanoa Hufanga, Leonard Floyd, and more, while their only major signing was tight end Luke Farrell on a 2-year deal.

San Francisco 49ers 2025 NFL Draft Picks

The 49ers had as many as 12 draft picks in this year’s draft, although they had to forfeit one of their picks. Leaning heavily toward building up a solid defense, the 49ers used their first five picks on defense. With 4 picks in the top 100, they added a defensive end, a defensive tackle, a linebacker, and a cornerback.

I’m an academic turned sports writer from Raipur, India, specializing in the NFL, MMA, and tennis at The Playoffs. I previously wrote for Sportskeeda and hold a B.A. and M.A. in History. My journey into sports media began far from the field, rooted in the arts and sciences. Funny enough, I didn’t grow up a sports fan; I used to see it all as just noise. But a fateful writing job introduced me to the world of sports, and what began as a gig quickly became a passion. I understood those voices aren’t noise; they’re emotions of true sports fans, and now I am one of them, writing with the same energy I once questioned.
