NBA 2K25 Patch Notes 3.0: NBA 2K25 City set for festive makeover in Season 3

The patch notes 3.0 was launched on November 19, at 2 am PT.

NBA 2K25 rolled out its highly anticipated Patch Notes 3.0 on Tuesday, November 19, introducing several gameplay improvements, bug fixes, and exciting updates for players across various modes, including the City, Pro-Am, Rec, and MyCAREER.

A key focus of Patch 3.0 is improving defensive interactions, particularly around steals and player movement.

Here’s a breakdown of the major gameplay tweaks:

Steal Adjustments: The effectiveness of “bump steals” has been reduced immediately after a change of possession.
Right Stick Defense Changes: The Right Stick defense will no longer perform jump contests or attempt strips during layups. Instead, it will only raise hands to defend.
Stun Mechanics: After a successful steal, the ball handler will experience a slightly longer stun, giving defenders a better chance to recover the loose ball and regain control.
Layup Strips: Players are now prevented from jumping to block during a layup strip before the strip animation has fully played out.
Off-Ball Deny Fix: A rare issue that caused players to be unable to move while using off-ball deny defense has been resolved.
Inbound Pass Bug: A bug that forced users to immediately pass the ball after fake passing on inbounds in 3v3 or 5v5 matches in The City has been fixed.
AI Improvements: Defensive adjustments by AI-controlled teams no longer mistakenly impact MyCAREER user AI teammates.
Timeout Glitch: In WNBA games, the timeout counter will no longer erroneously deduct an extra timeout during the last minute of the 4th quarter.

City, Pro-Am, and Rec Updates

The City gets a festive overhaul just in time for the holidays with a complete holiday-themed makeover for Season 3. The City will be decked out in festive decorations to celebrate the holidays in the MyCAREER hub.

Top 10 & Badge Rewards: The game now ensures that the Top 10 icon and Max +1 badge reward are only awarded to players who are ranked in the Top 10 and have a REP level of Legend I or greater.

2XP Coin Time Display: The time remaining for active 2XP coins will now show on screen when the bonus is activated.

MyCOURT & Venue Load Times: A slight delay that could occur when loading into MyCOURT and other venues in The City has been addressed for faster entry.

“Like This Player” Feature: The “Like This Player” function in The Theater mode will now properly assign likes to the correct player.

Pro-Am Courts Fix: Pro-Am courts and uniforms now properly update for all users when editing them within the arena.

MyCOURT Hang Issue: A hang that occurred when quitting out of MyCOURT immediately after finishing a game has been fixed.
