Tristan Vukcevic

Tristan Vukčević possesses a rich family heritage that has shaped his identity and career. His father, Dušan Vukčević, is a Serbian-Greek former professional basketball player who had a long career in Europe. His mother, Jade, is a Swedish businesswoman and former model, whose parents emigrated from the former Yugoslavia to Sweden. Due to this multicultural background, Tristan holds Serbian, Greek, and Swedish passports. He grew up in Italy, where his father played, and later moved with his family to Athens, Greece, after Dušan’s retirement.

Youth Career
Vukčević began his basketball journey in the youth categories of Olympiacos (Greece), a club where his father also played. In 2018, he moved to Spain to join Real Madrid’s youth academy, another of his father’s former clubs.

He quickly stood out in the youth categories, helping Real Madrid U18 win the EuroLeague Next Generation Tournament (NGT) Munich Tournament in 2019–20.

Start of Professional Career in Europe
Real Madrid (2019–2022)
Tristan Vukčević made his preseason debut for Real Madrid in September 2020. His official professional debut in the Liga ACB (Spanish Basketball League) took place in October 2020. Although his role in the main team was limited due to squad depth, he gained valuable experience and was part of the team that won the Spanish Supercup in 2021.

Partizan Belgrade (2022–2024)
In January 2022, Vukčević signed a multi-year contract with Partizan Belgrade (Serbia), one of Europe’s basketball powerhouses.

At Partizan, he played a more significant role, especially in the ABA League (Adriatic Basketball League). In the 2022–23 season, he helped Partizan win the ABA League title. His averages in the competition were 8.1 points and 3.2 rebounds per game. During the 2023–24 season, he continued to perform well in the ABA League, averaging 10.9 points and 3.6 rebounds in 14 games, although his playing time in the EuroLeague was more restricted.

NBA Career
NBA Draft and Washington Wizards (2023–Present)
Tristan Vukčević declared for the 2023 NBA Draft and had an excellent performance at the NBA Draft Combine.

He was selected by the Washington Wizards as the 42nd overall pick.

In March 2024, he parted ways with Partizan Belgrade to pursue his NBA career, officially signing with the Washington Wizards. He managed to participate in 10 regular-season games in 2023–24, showing potential with averages of 8.5 points and 3.6 rebounds per game.

In July 2024, he signed a two-way contract with the Washington Wizards, which allows him to play for both the main NBA team and its G-League affiliate, the Capital City Go-Go.

Playing Style and Position
At 2.13 meters (7 feet) tall and playing primarily as a Center or Power Forward, Vukčević is known for being a player with a versatile and modern skill set for his height, including the ability to shoot from long range.

National Team Career
Vukčević competes for the Serbian national team. He has been part of the national team in various international competitions, including qualifying games for the FIBA EuroBasket.
